Increasing dose for the last 10-15lbs?

Hey everyone I’ve been on Triz since January and I’ve lost 55 pounds. I was on 3mg for one month and I’ve been on 6mg the rest of the time. I haven’t been able to exercise as much since my kids are out of school for the summer. I’m still losing weight but it’s obviously been much slower for the past month or so. I thought about increasing my dosage to 9mg for maybe a month or two to get these last 15lbs off and then going back down to 6mg. I’m not sure if it’s a smart move because I’m afraid my body will get used to the 9mg and then 6mg won’t feel effective anymore. Has anyone increased their dosage for just a month or two and went back down? I plan to jump right back into going running once my kids are back in school.

January 5, 2026 - July 5, 2026

Hey everybody! I’m a 29 year old man, at 5’9”. Here is a 6 month update of my experience with compounded tirzepatide. I started at 2.5mg on January 5, 2026 with a starting weight of 242lbs.

After 4 weeks, I was moved up to 5mg. I stayed on 5mg until I got stuck at the same weight for about 4 weeks. I moved up to 7.5mg on June 7, 2026 weighing 187lbs.

Since moving to 7.5mg, I have made it down to 181lbs.

Things that I have changed:

I quit drinking alcohol completely.

I go to the gym 3-4 times a week, doing weight training and light cardio.

I have maintained a caloric deficit of about 500cal a day.

I eat premade foods, or if I have to get food, I pick smaller/healthier options.

Things that I have encountered:

I have had some really good success in the lower doses. My biggest issues have all been GI related.

I usually tend to get sulphur burps real bad the day after injection, diarrhea on day 2-4, and constipation until my next injection. It’s been a rollercoaster. My target weight is 170, and I cannot weight to be done with the medication and continue living my newfound, healthy lifestyle that this medication has helped me cultivate for myself.

New user help

I recently got approved to buy either one of these. I am a big (no pun intended) penny pincher and was wondering if anyone could educate me on what is the “best” I’m 24F, 62 inches, 272 pounds. Was somewhere around 300 pounds in January. I’m dealing with horrible food noise and currently in therapy so I decided to finally bite the bullet and try medicine. I assume the 12 week supply is better bang for my buck but plz tell me other wise. And this is from Fifty410. TIA ❤️🙏

Max Dose

I’ve been on Tirz since November and have done well for the most part. I’m 10-15 pounds away from goal weight. I’ve tried to stay at the lowest dose possible for maximum effectiveness, but my pattern is that after 6-8 weeks food noise and hunger comes roaring back with a vengeance and I need to titrate up.

I’ve been on 10mg for 8 weeks and my severe food noise/hunger is back. I had hoped I’d be one who could stay at one dose forever.

My question is, what do you do when you reach the max dose? When you reach max dose and you get to goal weight, do you just magically get to a place where the insatiable hunger you get before titrating up STOPS? Somehow I find that hard to believe.

Has anyone noticed issues with coffee??!

Hello group.

I have been on variations of weight loss meds for going on three years. For the first two I was on semiglutide. I went from 210-180 and kind of just plateaued there.

A friend suggested I switch to Tirzepitide and I am getting my doses from Amble. I am currently down to 165(ish).

I have been on tirzepitide for almost a year, and I began eating fiber gummies and drinking coffee (something I never used to do) and I went to Mexico for some dental work and opted for skip two weeks of my doses.

When I got back, I started taking it again and ever since then I cannot have coffee, it makes me sick and puts me on the toilet, typically within an hour or two.

I should note, I was never a coffee drinker before, but in the 8/9 months I’ve been drinking it, I never had any problems until I skipped those two weeks.

3rd 2.5 injection wow and a question or observation

Well I took my 3rd shot Saturday morning, 1st was 1.5 and now two at 2.5 and it's just wild what the heck it does to food nose as they say. This morning it was not easy taking in 8 ounces of my protein drink with creatine.

My observation in the first week and I'm guessing will hold for this week is the appetite suppression is extremely strong for the first 3 or 4 days and then I can eat a little more as the week goes by but still not like I could before. I suppose that's what most find? It's like I can eat more getting close to next shot day but I have kinda developed better habits so I can't go nuts not do I want to. The cravings for sweets never wanes, I don't want to look at sweets the entire time.

Oh and I think I'm gonna have to give up the energy drinks. I think they just don't jive with this medication. Do you agree? I'm gonna give them up for straight up hydration drinks with serious electrolytes.

I love this not giving a shit about food. I mean this is wild and awesome.

Progress Update!

I'm almost down to single digits 200s (as in less than 210)! Im 27% of the way to my goal.

The longest I've ever been able to eat healthier and lose weight was one month. I've gotten down to 200lbs on strict, unsustainable diets, but I haven't been BELOW 200lbs since 2017.

I started at 245lbs, and in a little over 3 months, I've lost 34lbs, and this time, it's completely sustainable. I walk 60+ minutes a day with my dog, I just added resistance training 2-3x a week that I'm genuinely enjoying doing, and I'm still enjoying the food I love, and instead of restricting, I add more nutritious and filling foods to them. I've also been being mindful of calories that I drink, and the tirz has essentially eliminated the food noise that had me snacking ALL DAY LONG. Always thinking about food, being hungry, what was for the next meal, what I could have as a snack. Endless noise.

My next goal is to get my BMI to 35 because I have a surgery. My goal after that is just to get below 200lbs.

A few things I've learned doing this:

  1. Micro goals are the best. I get a big boost of serotonin whenever I hit a mini goal I've set along the way.

  2. My walks have been an ABSOLUTE JOY. My body sometimes even feels good when I'm walking. Like, the act of moving my legs feels GOOD. I have never experienced that before. Plus I get to see alot more sunrise and sunsets than I saw before I got a dog. I love to smell the flowers and hear the birds chirping. It's honestly become so nice to walk.

  3. Changing my purpose for working out and movement in general from losing weight to GAINING something has been a huge game changer. Like i said earlier, i walk a lot because I got a dog, but I also gain all those additional benefits. The cardio is just a side reason. Going to the gym has become a way to see if I can do better than last time. Today I got SIX PERSONAL BESTS! Now, THAT is fun to see. I want to be stronger. Increased calorie burning is just a side reason. Honestly I don't even think about it because idk how to track calories burnt when lifting.

Anyway, long story short, this is your sign to start tirz if you haven't yet. I haven't visually seen any changes in my body, but I've been measuring, and according to that, I've lost anywhere from 0.5" to 2" on various parts of my body in the past 6 weeks (I didn't measure when I started). I feel good, my mental health is better, the inflammation from my knee injury has gone down enough that I can actually FEEL MY KNEE AGAIN (previously swollen to the point my nerves were compressed and I had no sensation on the skin of my knee)!!! It has mostly reversed my IBS-D. Genuinely, this medication is LIFE. CHANGING.

How was your experience with restarting tirz after having to stop for surgery?

I am having a complete hysterectomy due to aggressive  (cervical intraepithelial neoplasia III). Had a Leep procedure last year to treat CIN3 and came away with clean margins afterwards. At my 6 month check up it had already come back with CIN2. So doc is doing a complete hysterectomy. I started tirz back in March with a starting weight of 236. I'm down to 187 today and still on 2.5mg. I had to stop my tirz for the surgery. I wasn't real happy about being off for 2 weeks but I am complying with my surgeon's and anesthesiologist's wishes. I found out at my pre op that they want me to hold off another week after surgery before I start back up. So that's a total of 3 weeks off.

Did any of y'all have to up your dose because you stopped then started again? Were you able to just pick up where you left off? Am I stressing for no reason?

Very hungry the day after my early morning shot the day before...

I just went up to 7.5 and changed my injection site from my belly to my upper left arm yesterday. Nothing is happening and my roommate just ordered Dominoes and I've eaten 2 big slices. What is happening? It's been about 31 hours... Thank you in advance for your feedback! 🙂💜

I can’t seem to get a rx for this. I don’t know why

For one I’m in a state that doesn’t work with alot of these online retailers of drugs. Edit * Alabama

But also, the one I found that will ship to my state only will offer me Sema.

Did anyone else struggle with that? How do you get the drug of choice?

I was already on Sema when I lived in a different state and only lost 20 lbs in 7 months even with a lot of diet mods (stopped drinking, been on whole :0 for 6 months) and way higher cardio (6-10 miles/ day walking) so I want to try tirz.
I feel so much better however, the fat is still there. I added in weight training and yoga. All good things. It’s the brain and food noise it just doesn’t stop.

What to do about dosing?!

So I’ve been getting my dose from refills and they have just been increasing it how they normally do. 2.5mg for 4 weeks , 5mg for 4 weeks, 7.5 for 4 weeks and now I just finished my last 7.5mg dose. The next dose is of course 10mg but the thing is I had little to no side effects up until the 7.5 dosage and was wondering if I have to go up to 10mg or if I can just stay at 7.5mg since I’m still losing weight ( not as fast as before because I think I’m somewhat at a plateau after losing 34 pounds). Any advice is appreciated!

Wondering – Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program

I’m just wondering. I have been on compounded tirzepatide for 18 months – down 80 lbs, but I’ve been on maintenance for the past 4 months. My PCP has submitted pre-authorization for Zepbound. I qualify under Tier 1, as I started GLP-1 with a BMI over 38. Tomorrow I plan to check with my PCP to see if he can give me a current status of the PA. Is there anyone else on this group who is waiting for PA? Has anybody received the authorization already? My pharmacy shows a Rx for Zepbound awaiting insurance approval. I just checked my pharmacy’s website, and it shows the estimated price as “pending” and the script as “estimated ready by Friday, July 10 at 1:45 pm.”

Anybody else awaiting approval for the Medicare Bridge Program?

First injection ✅

I did it! I worked up the nerve and did my first shot! Actually my husband gave it to me, but it was nothing! I can’t believe I let my head control me like that!
Now, praying that I will get better results and less side effects with Tirz than I did with that Wegovy pill. 🙏🏻

Has anyone had luck purchasing with HSA, specifically through OrderlyMeds?

I read that it needed to be for a diagnosed medical condition such as obesity, a valid prescription, a letter of medical necessity. I was just barely into the overweight bmi when first prescribed.

Titration rec?

I wanted to pop in ask here because it seems like many here have some experience with this. I've been at 5 MG Tirz since May 7 2026but sometimes my hunger and food noise comes back. I know that not being hungry is not the goal here, and I also know that I should be still getting my nutrients and plenty of protein, which I am, but can anyone advise whether I should move up? I do hit my goal whenever I've done a good workout and lost a lot of water weight but I still have some ways to go as far as stubborn fat, love handles, etc.

Basically, what would anyone do in my shoes if I have hit around 150, my goal is 145, and I've been on five MG maintaining since early May? Thanks in advance.

Maintenance/Lowered Dose

Hi everyone! I have been on tirz for 11 months, and have lost about 85 pounds. Yay! 6’3” male now around 165ish.

I have really struggled with ahnedonia which has been so hard. I typically take my shot on Thursday, but I
delayed it to see how I felt. It is Sunday and I have more energy, feel better, and wondering what is next.

I have been at 10mg, Shotsy is estimating my levels are at 4.2.

Should I titrate down to 7.5 every ten days?

I am honestly so scared about gaining weight but wondering if I am near the end of my weight loss journey and need to be thinking about maintenance.
