Looking for support for restarting

I was microdosing for three months and lost 15 pounds. I stopped because the hair loss scared me and I have since maintained my weight loss, but I really liked the way I felt on tirz and decided to go back on (I bought a beautiful wig lol!). I do have some more weight to lose, and while maintaining my 15 lb weight loss was not a big deal, there’s no way I could lose more weight without the tirz. I did four weeks at 0.5mg, four weeks at 1mg, and pretty much three or four weeks at 1.5mg then stopped. Now back on 1.5mg, I had a great first week, but the second and third week I felt absolutely nothing. No control over my appetite and cravings. My weight has not changed. I’m headed into my fourth week of 1.5mg knowing it’s not going to do anything. I plan to bump up to 4mg for week 5 (that’s a 2.5 mg increase just like 2.5 to 5mg is). Lavender Sky Health has me doing 2mg to 4mg but I went to 1.5mg first because that’s where I started, but I’m ready for 4mg. I am fearful that even 4mg won’t do anything, as I’ve read that restarting causes you to sort of become immune to the peptide (not sure how this works, I’m not a doctor).

Anyways, just wanted to see if there was anyone out there who could share some encouraging words about life after a restart. I feel like going off the med messed everything up and I lost my chance to get to my goal weight.

It DOES get better!!!

Last month, I posted asking for support because I was freshly off the shot and struggling with very severe food noise. My last shot was April 6th, and since I was on a microdose, my blood concentration hit zero around a month later. That was when I felt the real hunger and food noise slam me. I tried my best to track all my calories and distract myself. Luckily, I have been maintaining the weight that I have lost, and in the past two weeks, the food noise has been much quieter, and my hunger has been very normal and predictable. It finally got better and I’m thrilled. I have good habits now, and I’m training for a marathon. Plus, I can feel little prickly hairs starting to grow back (my hair loss was BAD).

It’s obviously taking plenty of work to maintain my weight, but it’s doable because my good habits have become my default behavior. I’m not even tracking calories anymore because I’m so confident in the habits I’ve built. And my weight has only ever fluctuates by +/- 1 pound.

The lesson: When things go awry, if your default behaviors are not suitable for weight maintenance, then of course you’re not going to maintain your loss. There will be days you don’t feel like eating well or exercising, and you’re going to be functioning on autopilot (we all have those autopilot days). Good habits NEED to be your default when you’re low on energy and just not feeling it.

There are many days I wish I could be back on the shot so that maintenance could feel more effortless, but I’ve found a lot of benefits to being off the shot (mostly that my running economy has vastly improved and my hair loss is reversing).

This message is for anyone who wants to get off. It’ll feel rough at first, but once you push past the transitional phase, you will be fine as long as your habits are set in stone. You can do this!

Looking for support

I’ve been off tirzepatide for almost two months. I was planning on getting off at some point due to massive hair loss despite only losing 15 pounds, and I went on a month long trip without the meds. When I got back home I realized my blood concentration level was so close to zero that I didn’t want to restart so I just never took another shot. I was microdosing the whole time I was on it (~3 months) and loved it. I was able to stick to my calorie goals and average a loss of five pounds per month. The break from the food noise was the most beautiful mental vacation I ever experienced. But the hair loss terrified me (I am so embarrassed to wear my hair in a ponytail because there’s more scalp than hair!). I’m also a runner, and the increase in resting heart rate and decrease in HRV did bum me out a little bit while I was taking the meds. Anyways, I’ve been able to maintain the 15 pounds lost, but I am STRUGGLING. I still have more weight I could lose, but eating at maintenance is hard, so I don’t think the deficit is an option right now. I know this feeling won’t get better because this is exactly how it was before I was on tirzepatide. I’m back to baseline. I want to have a better relationship with food but the food noise is unrelenting and unbearable. I’m just looking for support. Thank you.

I was traveling out of the country for nearly a month, and I decided I didn’t want to travel with my med. I’ve lost the weight I wanted to lose and now I’m just trying to maintain. These were all my previous doses:

Week 1 (January 13th) - 0.5mg
Week 2 - 0.5mg
Week 3 - 0.5mg
Week 4 - 0.5mg
Week 5 - 1mg
Week 6 - 1mg
Week 7 - 1mg
Week 8 - 1mg
Week 9 - 1.5mg
Week 10 - 1.5mg
Week 11 - 1.5mg
Week 12 - skip
Week 13 - 1mg (April 6th)
Week 14 - skip
Week 15 - skip
Week 16 - skip
Week 17 - skip

I was planning to do 1mg every other week for maintenance. 1.5mg was too much for me, and honestly 1mg was plenty.

If you were me, would you think 1mg would be ok to take today? Or should I go back to 0.5mg?

Any help would be appreciated!
