Hi everyone! New FA here, going to training later next month at the Globe. We just received our likely base assignments via email and it's either SFO or ORD. I've read enough of the past posts in here (and asked a few people offline) and it seems from a trip perspective, SFO might be what I'm leaning toward right now, but that being said, I'm LA based currently and I wasn't planning on moving quite yet, hoping to commute. I figured that, since SFO is closer, it might be an easier commute (and I could even take my car in an emergency when that day's flights look full), but wanted to ask opinions on what might be better from a commuter perspective from LAX. I've also read that LAX-SFO might be hard to get seats. So, if during probation it might be easier to commute to ORD v. SFO, I might do that and then transfer once the probationary period is over.

Also, during the probation period, are you able to nonrev on other airlines, or are you limited to only the airline you work for in that time period?

Just trying to get a sense of what might be best ... moving might be in the cards down the road, but for now, was planning on staying put. If anyone has any insights about the two bases from a commuting perspective (and if you'd like to add anything from a trip/base perspective) would appreciate the thoughts.

Thank you!
