airport standby/reserve should be illegal idc

these people make me sit at the airport for 6 hours, only pay me for 3 of those hours- and i NEVERRRRRR EVERRRR get called.

ill ask to be released early (there are no more departures for the rest of my shift) but they always tell me they can’t let me go due to “operational needs” and yet i still never get used. not even for a pre board 🫩

i thankfully held a line for the first time in june, so no more reserve after this. but oh my godddddd. i’m so bored. and i’m so tired of sitting in this airport, ive been here more than i’ve been in the sky.

not to mention how i never get called during at home reserve either 🫩

it would be different if i was paid for the entire time i was here… and to top it off we don’t have a crew room 🫠

I am heartbroken and feel 😞

I failed FA training after 4 weeks. I was given my base. I was given my uniforms. I went on my first OE. And yet with all of that success I managed to fail and get sent home. What’s next? What does everyone who has been in this situation do? Is the only solution to wait until posting reopen and try again?

Southwest CJO

I had my f2f yesterday at 2:30 and was just curious of anyone else who was there if you got a CJO on the spot? I swear my interviewers told me emails would be sent by the end of next week and to make sure to look out for it because it’s time sensitive, but other people said theirs told them Friday (today). Also seeing on here people saying that they only give CJO on the spot but I don’t know how accurate that is. Just looking for insight lol I haven’t gotten a yes or no email yet!

Also if you had your f2f yesterday at 2:30 hello 👋🏼 it was nice seeing and speaking with everyone and I hope to see you all again ❤️

Is there some secret?

In September, one year will have passed since my last rejection for the flight attendant position from United Airlines. I am very unhappy with my current position as a flight attendant at my current airline and United has been my dream for a very long time, I can really see myself being very happy at United. I have applied three times in the past, never made it to the face-to-face. I need it to work this time. I want to find my forever airline and start building seniority. If United rejects me when I apply in September, I will not be applying again because I cannot waste another year not gaining seniority. I’ll take American or Delta which will be just fine, but not what I truly want. What’s different this time is I do have a new accomplishment from my current airline that I can add to my résumé which will be very impressive and I did not have this before. I’m really hoping I get a CJO because I need it to work this time. Is there a secret to getting hired at United? Is there anything I should know? Is there anything I should strictly avoid doing/wearing during the interview process? Any and all information is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Which airline would you choose for an interesting life? Delta or United

I have a strong passion for aviation, and airplanes are very important to me. For a long time, I have been trying to decide between Delta Air Lines and United Airlines, especially for a future base in New York, whether that would be at John F. Kennedy International Airport or Newark Liberty International Airport. My difficulty is that both airlines have their own advantages and disadvantages. Delta has a very prestigious reputation, while United is known for its strong international network. However, what matters most to me is something slightly different. I am looking for an airline that offers: many international destinations, a wide variety of aircraft types, and especially a strong fleet of wide-body aircraft. From what I understand, Delta may have fewer international destinations from New York compared to United, but Delta has an impressive variety of wide-body aircraft, including the Boeing 767, Airbus A330, Airbus A350, and in the future the Boeing 787 as well. On the other hand, United has an excellent international network, but over time it plans to retire several aircraft types, including the Boeing 767 and eventually parts of the Boeing 777 fleet, which may leave the Boeing 787 as its primary long-haul aircraft in the future. Since I truly enjoy different aircraft types, it is important to me to have the opportunity to fly on a variety of airplanes rather than mainly one model. At the same time, I would also like to choose the airline that is considered the strongest and most preferred by passengers in New York overall — not only at a specific airport base, but as a leading airline connected with New York itself. I would really appreciate your advice and perspective.

Has anyone quit FA training?

Has anyone quit fa training due to just realizing it might not be the right job for them? I’ve been missing home a lot and thinking about my future of not being able to go home that often is making me anxious. I’ve been told training is totally different than the real job but just thinking of not being home that much as well as the low pay is starting to hit me

UA Reapply Success Story

Last year I applied for UA and made it to F2F but couldn't get the CJOs. It was my first ever time to apply ever in any airline. I truly still want this career. I plan to reapply after my eligibility period after May 25th, 2026, and wanted to ask people who got hired on their second (or later attempt):

  • What do you think helped you improve the second time?
  • Did you change your interview style or answers?
  • What do recruiters seem to look for most during ODVI/F2F?
  • Any advice for someone trying again?

I would really appreciate hearing your success stories because I'm trying not to lose hope.

Thank you so much.

Why Southwest?

Please, I’m Having a hard time understanding why so many are obsessed with getting hired by SW. I get that their “pay is better” & they’re more “flexible”… but aside from being able to have tattoos & drop all your trips I don’t really get it.

I’ve been digging into it since I applied and I’m not sure it sounds as good as everyone makes it out to be…

I guess the company culture is something people like, but I honestly hate SW as a pax and actively avoid flying with them if I can. So why would working for them be enjoyable?

it seems like it’s mostly shorter flights, so multiple flights each day your working. Which is just a lot of up and down (like working for a regional with bigger planes & more pax to attend to)

Also, holding a line there doesn’t make sense? Once you hold a line you alternate back to reserve every other month until you are top 35% seniority? So what’s the point of getting to a seniority level to hold a line if you’re just gonna get flipped back on reserve?

The pay is better I guess( but really doesn’t look that significantly better), but the flight benefits are inferior. So even if you have flexibility to use your non rev for pleasure, you’re at the bottom of the barrel for getting a seat.

So what am I missing? Not sure if I should continue with the interview process

Also, I’m not trolling this is a throwaway account since I know some of y’all are gonna come fire me 😂

Apply for UA as a Flight attendant in an uncertain time?

I’ve been researching being a flight attendant for years. Now that I feel confident and prepared to finally begin applying, people are saying that making the transition from making 80,000 a year and having stability — to starting over in a completely different field in this time in the world is a poor choice. I’m unhappy in my city (Missouri), nothing is here for me. I’m 28, single, and though I am independent and living on my own, I have no reason to stay. I’m confident I have what it takes to be an exceptional flight attendant. I would love someone’s input that has been in the industry. Please and thank you!

Should I hide my history of Air Canada to apply rouge

Hello guys, I was a FA with AC mainline for a couple months and just got fired almost one week before my probation ended. I was fired without a legit cause but anyway…
Now I see Rouge hiring, should I just delete the AC part in my resume and apply for rouge again? Or I should be 100% honest with them? Is there any risks associated with each option? Thank you!

UA 2026 CTO holders

If you applied this year(2026)... How long did it take from your 1 on 1 interview to get to the F2F for you?

Bonus: When did you/will you start training?

Wyd in the meantime ?

As we know a lot of us were deferred till January for training. I seen plenty of people saying they quit their jobs, broke their lease, etc in preparation for the May training we were told we’d attend.

So my question is, while we’re waiting for training wyd ? Are you guys getting new jobs, applying for other airlines, withdrawing, etc ?

Is anyone still in application applied that applied May 13? I haven’t received anything about a Q&A.

I keep seeing people that applied this week receive theirs immediately (few hours later.)

Wearing Earbuds in ODVI Responses

I just received my ODVI invite from WN and wanted to know is it okay to wear small earbuds when recording responses? My computer audio sounds horrible otherwise.
