How to deal with the sadness after your first serious medical

How does one deal with their first traumatic medical? It happened to me this week and I was position 1. I feel like I kind of blanked but my crew was so amazing and helpful.

I’m mostly hung up on my PA asking for medical personal, I literally just got on the PA and asked if there was a doctor on board who could assist. I felt helpless as I called the captain as I had no information to give him. Told him I would call him back. Ran to the back of the plane to get more information and kept sprinting back and forth while the medical happened.

They teach us so much in training and I feel like I just kept running around trying to find more information and relay it. We ended up calling the POC which halfway through, got disconnected. I ended up calling them back and finishing up on what to do so I felt better at that point.

I’m just sad for the passenger and upset at myself that I kind of froze. I know it was my first medical, I have gotten calls from all my managers asking me how I’m holding up and I just feel sad!!

Any advice please!!!

Looking for tote bag recs

I’ve been a flight attendant for a few months now and decided I can invest in a solid tote bag now. I currently have a basic black tote from Amazon. While nice, it doesn’t hold enough.

I still have my travel pro tote from training but it feels like the biggest bag ever that holds nothing.

Looking for something that potentially could hold inflight shoes and be big enough for my current crochet project (commuter life).

I tried the samsonite weekender bag and it was WAY too much bag, as much as I loved the amount of space lol.

Thank you!!!

Can I get in trouble for donating my hotel toiletries to my local shelter?

Hi all sky baddies,

I have recently become a flight attendant (within a few months) and I realized how many hotel toiletries can be provided. I’ve been collecting them in hopes of donating them to my local DV and women’s shelters.

Is there anything against that? Should I reach out to my union for further info?

I just would hate to have hotels throw it away when someone in my community can benefit from it. It doesn’t cost me anything and I can do something great for someone else.

Thank you so much.
