Can’t create Microsoft account (email linked to recovery method for unknown account?)
Hi everyone, I’m about ready to throw my phone at my computer screen, so if someone could help me out I would appreciate it! 😅
I was trying to create a Microsoft account, to my knowledge I have never had one. The system will not let me create a new account because my only email address is apparently a recovery method for an account I know nothing about. When I use my email to attempt a log in, it says my email is not linked to an account. I have gone through the process to recover a username, but it “reveals” the username to me as “12*****” (first two characters changed for privacy reasons). I’ve tried inputting the username as it appears with the asterisks and it doesn’t exist. I can’t use the support portal because I can’t log in (???). The Sign-In Helper doesn’t help me because it doesn’t actually recover the full username. I tried calling support and the automated phone tree puts me through a loop of me repeatedly explaining the problem then it saying there’s nothing it can do and directing me to the support website, which doesn’t work. Is it impossible to talk to a live human??? Please somebody help. 😩 I’m on a Mac/iPhone if that changes anything.
