Victron EV Charging Station Setup in USA

Victron EV Charging Station Setup in USA

I wanted to share my experience with setting up the EVCS in the United States. My system includes two Multiplus II’s (48v/3000VA) configured for 240v, a Cerbo GX, a Victron MPPT 450/100, and four 100AH SOK 48v batteries. First off, I was unable to get the EVCS to function with single phase. I’m guessing that single phase only works in Europe, where 230v is available in single phase. What worked for me was connecting one hotwire to L1 and one hotwire to Neutral providing 240v across L1 and Neutral connections.

After many reboots, firmware upgrades, and resets without getting any power out of the EVCS, I decided to do some wire tracing. What I found was a connector hiding under the circuit board that was connected to nothing. In the photo you can see the connector and where it plugs into the circuit board. After plugging the connector in, everything worked fine. I have to give a shout-out to NAZ Solar (retailer for the EVCS) for helping me troubleshoot this issue.

Broke My Victron System

I stupidly upgraded my Victron system's firmware, and now I can't get any power from the grid. Here's my system: Cerbo GX (firmware 3.72), two Multiplus II's (48v/3000, now on firmware 560), MPPT 450/100, four SOK 100ah batteries. After doing some troubleshooting I decided to add ESS to my Assistants. Here is my assistant list.

Now I'm getting these error messages.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

New Ioniq 5 12v Battery Failure

I only have 700 miles on my Ioniq 5. Everything has been great until today. Last night I decided to try scheduled charging to take advantage of the lowest electric rates. This morning the car was totally dead. The 12v battery read 3.8v. Jump starting the 12v battery brought everything back to life. It did not appear that any charging of the HV batteries had taken place. Has anyone else experienced a 12v battery failure related to scheduled charging?

The whole thing with the 12v battery is disconcerting to say the least. With the Ioniq would it be wise to carry around one of those portable jump starter devices? Such as this one: Amazon.com: WOLFBOX 4000A Jump Starter,12V Car Battery Jumper Starter Portable with 65W Quick Charger,LED Display,88.8Wh Booster Jump Box Pack (10L Gas 10L Diesel Engine) with LED Light,Jumper Cables : Automotive
