so tired of scheduling at my store. 99% of my shifts are scheduled at 5.75 hours. recently there was a 5.75hr closing shift i was scheduled for on a day that our store had 2 people call out - as a result, a SSV called me asking if i could come in early and pick up an additional 2 hours. while on the call, i heard my SSV be talked down from letting me come in early by our manager because having me come in early would mean id need a meal break which "we can't afford." literally choosing to be short staffed over letting me get a 30 min break when it slowed down. and don't get me STARTED on having to unload a freight shipment during a 5.75hr shift where i will be watched like a hawk on camera to ensure that my break doesn't exceed 10 minutes. fuck, i couldn't even have anything to drink during those 10 minutes bc our baristas were too busy to make my drink
