No appt w doc, told to go to urgent care….plz tell me what is going to happen.
My anxiety plays out in the ‘what if’s’ and I’m currently frozen w fear so explain to me like I’m 5 what urgent care is going to do.
Wound happened 1 week ago. Mandolin took a pinto bean sized chunk. Been changing dressing daily using Vashe & xeroform. It has puss oozing today & definite build up. Whole thumb starting to hurt & feel warm. Tiny bit red maybe…not much. The pain is the worst part. So.many.nerves. In fingertips! Couldn’t make an appointment with my doc so I sent a pic and note in my chart & they said ‘yep no appointments, go to urgent care .’
Will they numb it before doing anything? Scalpel off the slough? Just prescribe meds?? Give me all the possibilities….
