Help with exclusive breastfeeding
Hi!! I never thought I’d be here after an absolute disaster with my first. I ended up pumping and followed a pretty strict set of guidelines to keep up my supply.
But this baby latches! And sleeps! It’s a miracle and I’m loving it!!
But I’m not sure how to keep up my supply.
I’m just feeding on demand and alternating every over feed. If he’s not satiated with one side after 15 minutes I move him to the other side. Typically him getting both sides over loads him tho!!
He’s almost 10lbs and sleeps 3hr stretches right now which is truly a gift. But this means one boob might go almost 6 hours. It gets engorged and hurts in the morning and it worries me that it might hurt my supply down the road.
He cluster feeds for several hours in the late afternoon and evening. So we’re far exceeding the recommended 12 feeds per day.
How do you manage this? Any other tips to keep up supply for exclusive BF?
