Bunrungrad or Bangkok Hospital for Psychiatrist

Hi there, I’m a foreign and I am looking to see a psychiatrist in Bangkok.

To those who have experience / knowledge here
Could you recommend me the charges and fees for a psychiatrist between those 2 hospitals

How long would a First Session Take? Bumrungrad told me it would take 20 mins (but depends)

Bangkok hospital told me will be 1 hour for 1st time

Which hospital would you all recommend for a better psychiatrist and better service/converse in English

Thank you in advance :)

My journey with health anxiety, OCD-style checking, and possible adult separation anxiety

Hi everyone. I wanted to share a summary of what I’ve been going through because I’m hoping to speak with people who understand health anxiety, OCD-style checking, certainty-seeking, and adult separation anxiety.

I’m not looking for a diagnosis from Reddit, and I know this is not a replacement for professional help. I’m mainly hoping to hear from people who have experienced something similar.

My health anxiety started around July 2023. Since then, my main fear has been illness, especially around my mouth and tongue. Small changes such as ulcers, red dots, scars, bumps, dents, or colour changes can make my mind spiral badly. I would think I have especially Tongue Cxx if after checking with 2 Or Sur.

June 2026
I started accepting more clearly that this may not just be a medical fear, but also health anxiety/OCD. I have been feeling emotionally exhausted from the constant checking, fear, and need for certainty. I have also been discussing this with a therapist and plan to see a psychiatrist for a formal diagnosis and treatment direction.

Separation anxiety / attachment side

I also notice that I can struggle with separation anxiety in my long-distance relationship. When I cannot reach my partner or when there is uncertainty, my mind can become anxious and overthink. Over time, constant contact and FaceTime became a way to feel safe.

I’m starting to realize that my health anxiety and separation anxiety may have a similar root: fear of uncertainty, fear of losing someone, and needing contact or confirmation to feel safe.

My main struggles are:

  • fear of Cxx illness
  • compulsive mouth checking
  • certainty-seeking
  • Googling symptoms
  • fear that doctors missed something
  • fear that a healed ulcer could still become something
  • waking up with health anxiety
  • needing certainty to feel safe
  • anxiety when separated from my partner or when I cannot reach them
  • difficulty trusting calm periods for long

I’m not really looking for medical opinions. I’m more hoping to hear from people who understand the anxiety cycle and how they worked through it.

Thanks for reading.
