Before Covid I was globalist and for the last 10+ years have only stayed at Hyatt properties. We basically plan our travels and vacations around where a Hyatt is located and have never had a major issues until recently. I have waited to post this because I wanted to see what the GM of Hyatt Place Columbia/Harbison would say to me but they never reached out. The Hyatt Facebook customer service team did refund my stay and then sent me 15k points to make me happy but that is not worth me not letting others know how disgusting this property is. The FB team also reached out to the property to let them know i was waiting to hear back from them and it's been a week and still nothing. The workers at the property were kind but man there were so many red flags. Our room AC was not working, the toilet was messed up and wouldn't stop running, dirt was everywhere. We eventually couldn't take the heat so they offered to move us. They then sent us to another room that already had people in it. OK fine, a simple mistake we can accept. Then sent us to a third room and thank god the AC was working. The front desk also questioned us how long we were in room #1 and we said like 2+hrs & they then said well it's probably still clean so we're going to just give that to someone else (a room that we have already stayed in and has no working AC and the toilet wont stop running). The final room we stayed in did need a good dusting/mop but whatever, at least the sheets/beds LOOKED clean. Then in the morning, we were lifting sheets to make sure we didn't leave anything in the bed and the sun revealed the comforter was absolutely disgusting. We slept in that all night and felt so upset we allowed our kids to sleep in these unhygienic conditions. I have stayed at this property many times over the years and never expect it to rival an Andaz or Grand Hyatt but damn, i expect it to at least be clean. I will never stay here again and will now lift every single comforter before sleeping at every hotel from here on out. Let me reiterate, to the naked eye it looked clean, it was only when you lift it up in the sun can you see anything. They looked 100% white/clean when just on the bed or even moving them around like normal. Also, the breakfast was terrible even when comparing it to every single time we've stayed there in the past.
