So this may be common knowledge among Oppo users, but I wanted to share it anyway.

my mistake was, I believe, using Oppo's Phone Clone to transfer apps and stuff from my previous phone (Vivo X200 Ultra). Idk what happened exactly, but Gmail notifications were borked from day 1 on my Find X9U.

So how do you fix this?

1. "Disable" the Gmail app: since it's a preinstalled system app on the Global variant, you can't uninstall it. Just disable.

2. "Uninstall updates" of the Gmail app: kinda self explanatory.

3. "Enable" gmail and update it via the Play Store.

And that's it.

Obviously you also gotta make sure Notifications of Gmail are allowed.
