What’s one skincare product you never realized was important until your skin barrier got damaged?

for me it was as simple as a moisturizer like when i was 14-15 and never used one till my skin got so damaged, and then I finally started using moisturizer and omg now im like why was i so stupid and why did no one told me that moisturizing is so important.

Anyone else feel like their skin improved after simplifying their routine?

Like, till a few months ago, I had such a long skincare routine, and I realised it wasn't doing much for my skin rather it was damaging it. So since then I have been using a simple cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Now I truly believe less is more.
