DIY IKEA Skådis attachment wall + Amazon slat wall lighting for my home gym

Been doing a few DIY upgrades to make the home gym feel a bit more organised and less like equipment has just been squeezed into a spare room.

I used an IKEA Skådis pegboard to make an attachment storage wall for all the cable handles, bars, straps etc. Keeps everything off the floor and makes it easy to grab whatever I need during a session.

For the other wall I fitted wood-effect slat wall panels and added some LED light strips from Amazon between the slats. Pretty simple setup, but I think it makes a massive difference to the space, especially with the rack/cable machine in front of it.

Neither project cost a huge fortune and both were fairly straightforward DIY jobs.

Still tweaking the setup, but pretty happy with how it's coming together. Thought I'd share in case anyone else is looking for relatively cheap ways to tidy up / improve the look of their home gym.

Happy to share the bits I used or how I mounted everything if anyone's interested.

Cybrex 750T

Hey all I purchased a second hand cybrex treadmill for my home gym. A couple things I wanted to ask. 1) does anyone know how to remove the TV that is mounted on the top of it? 2) anyone know how to manage creaking and loud squeaking on it? I had it serviced where they tightened bolts but now it's louder than ever. I just want to be respectful to my neighbors and make sure it's quiet for them. 3) the fan seems to be not working. Anyone have advice for troubleshooting. Just for context I am quite handy and don't mind fixing things etc. see photos and videos attached.

Apartment Home Gym

This is my finalised home gym. It's 3.6m x 2.8m room (11ft * 9ft). Has a cable rack, attachments and treadmill. Put acoustic panelling and foam flooring for the neighbours. I've struggled in gym environments as I'm a big guy and it gives me anxiety thinking about working out in front of other people and the potential of being filmed etc. I've lost 10-15kgs so far and I'm now excited about using this dedicated space to keep going. All equipment was a Facebook marketplace find or from auction houses/Amazon. ☺️

EDIT: Photos of the space linked in comments. Video was because I was very excited about the space, it's the only room in my apartment that is finished.

Apartment home gym

Ok so it's not done yet. But I'm building an apartment home gym. The room is 2.8m x 3.8m. The treadmill is off marketplace. I needed a commercial treadmill due to my size / weight. It's a cybrex 750T (£350 off FB) I have also secured a half rack cable weight machine and will need to buy an adjustable bench. That will be pretty much it as it's a small room. I just wanted to update my progress on getting this setup. I hate the idea of working out around other people so this was going to be an office but I'd rather put a home gym as a priority. Let me know what you guys think. I wanted it to be aesthetically nice so that I'll actually want to spend time in the gym etc. will post update pics when I have them. Be done in the next two weeks I think. Putting acoustic panels up to be nice to neighbours etc and I'll be putting led lights in the panels as well.
