So I tried Witcher 3 for the first time ever in 2026

Yo! I just started The Witcher 3 for the first time ever.

I’ve been a competitive gamer most of my life (LoL + Dota 2), but recently I got burned out on the competitive grind. I wanted to switch to games that are just fun and immersive again.

For some reason, I picked The Witcher 3.

I’m about 30+ hours in, and honestly… I did NOT expect it to be this good. The story, world, characters, and even the small interactions all feel insanely well made. It’s crazy that a game this old still feels better than a lot of modern releases.

The world feels alive in a way I haven’t experienced in a while. It actually gave me that same “I’m inside the world” feeling I had with Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

It also made me realize I’ve spent years chasing ranks instead of just enjoying games like this.

Now I’m even thinking of starting a YouTube series going through all the legendary games I missed.

PS: I have ALOT more to say about the game, I just don't wanna make this post too long.

Also I know one thing for sure, I wont need 10+ years to discover Witcher 4, that's for sure!

Any beginner tips for Witcher 3?
