AITA for wanting to put laxatives in my own food that my roommate steals?
Throwaway account because of obvious reasons.. some background to the story. 9 months ago I (20F) moved into an apartment. I live with 4 other roomates. Let’s call them Emily(23F) Jessica(26F) Olivia(21F) and lily(25F). I was the last one to move in. Everything seemed fine at first until I started to talk to Emily. Emily began telling me about the weird situations that occurred before I came. Emily and Jessica were the first ones to arrive. Emily had brought her boyfriend with her to help her settle in and afterwards stayed for a week. During this week, one night Emily’s bf went to the bathroom. When he came out, Jessica was standing BUTT ASS NAKED outside the bathroom door. The weird part was that she just stood there and said “hi!” Emily’s bf quickly went back into the room and told Emily about the situation. Emily never confronted Jessica about this bc well.. what do you even say ? I didn’t believe this at first but then the same thing happened to me, I was getting a snack when all of a sudden in the corner of my eye I see Jessica walking out the bathroom butt ass naked. She had no rush and could care less if I saw her. Emily also had told me that her food started going missing and once oliva arrived, her food started going missing too. Some time went by and I started missing food. I went crazy , I started counting tomatoes, taking pictures and asking myself “did I eat this???” We were only able to catch her once and Emily tried to confront her about it. She first of course denied it. And then said she sleep walks?? Emily has also told me there used to be snack wrappers in their bathroom garbage, so I guess she would snack a lot in there. I never personally confronted her bc she genuinely scares me. At the begging I would be washing dishes and she would stand next to me and ask me “how are you!” 3 TIMES. My room is the closest to the kitchen so I hear everything. Every single night there is someone “looking around” the cabinets and fridge. She was gone for a good two months and came back two weeks ago. First week she was actually “normal” but last couple of days, it started happening again. She also became very obsessive about cleaning ? We are all very good about cleaning after ourselves and yet she takes out the trash like everyday even when it’s not full and she “deep cleans” even though we have a lady that cleans our shared places once a week. As I’m typing this she’s currently in the kitchen again. I tried “catching “ her earlier but she scattered to her room before I could even open the door. We moved out in a month. I’m not an evil person but damn I wish there was something I could do that won’t cause much harm but enough discomfort like the one she made us go through all these months. I mean can I get in trouble for putting laxatives in my own food???
