I am deep in the rabbit hole of running shoes and need some help. I’ve always gone and bought a pair I’ve liked the look of, and never dived into specs, reviews etc.

I’m not a hardcore runner, so I’m starting to wonder if I even need to pay attention to half the stuff I’m reading? I just run to stay fit, but I am starting a training block for a half marathon in July. I can currently do the distance in 2hr 20min, but that’s definitely my limit right now. Most weeks I just do a 5k after work, sometimes creeping up to 10k. Also like intervals to keep it interesting and push my fitness.

I am a 30 year old male, 72kg, and a neutral runner.

The shortlist so far:
Boston 13s: I actually ordered these and they felt great in the house, but I had to return them because I needed a half-size up and they were out of stock. This is what started my spiral into reading too many reviews!

EVO SL: Tried these on in-store. They felt okay, but the laces felt a bit cheap and the upper fabric felt so thin that my foot was moving around a bit too much. Not sure if I’m just overthinking it?

NB FuelCell Rebel: I see amazing reviews for these on websites, but then I see people on Reddit saying they aren't great for longer distances (even as low as a 6km limit to feeling great). Some say little propulsion forward too.

Am I overthinking this for a 2:20 pace? (Hopefully sub 2 for the half!!). If the Bostons felt good, should I just track them down in my size elsewhere and call it a day, or is there a better trainer for a casual runner like me?
