I wanted to share an experience I just had on a dating app and get some thoughts.

I matched with someone and the conversation turned sexual pretty quickly. I asked about boundaries and what we were both comfortable with, but instead of a proper answer, they immediately asked me to send nudes. When I didn’t jump to do it, they started pressuring me, saying things like they’d stop replying if I didn’t and that I should just do what they want.

I tried to keep things fair and mutual, but it felt really one-sided and pushy. It made me uncomfortable, especially since we haven’t even met in person.

I ended up just leaving them on read, but it got me thinking about how common this kind of pressure is, especially in LGBTQ+ dating spaces.

Has anyone else dealt with this? How do you handle situations where someone pushes your boundaries like that?
