It’s not a diet!

I didn‘t consciously cut out processed foods, not at the beginning anyways. I just was sick of buying bread! Its either expensive or gross.

Actually, everything was starting to taste gross and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t just my tastebuds changing but the recipes being used. ^((Theres no reason I should want to scrape a reeces off my tongue because it felt like I’d just bit into a chewy chemical bar))

But anyways, I started to make my own bread (sourdough) and kept encountering more and more recipes that seemed interesting.

There are these sites where you just plug in what ingredients you have in your house and it will give you WALLS of recipes. It lead me down a rabbit hole.

It’s only been like 2 months and I’m neck deep in 100% made-from-scratch stuff. I even make my own butter. So many pro/pre/post-biotics. I started making my own mayonnaise just to see if I could.

The only REAL difference is that pooping is a breeze 😂 it’s a game changer and I‘ll never go back! I don’t care if that’s the only difference I ever experience!

I made my own ice cream today using nothing but a food processor and a plastic bag (and ofc the ingredients)

idk it’s just wild to me how easy the switch was and how little I desire to go back. It’s really not a diet, like I am still eating plenty of sugar and I make so many baked goods that calling it a “diet” would be wildly misleading. I’m not watching what I’m eating at all.

There is no hunting for unprocessed foods so shopping is extremely easy. I’m only purchasing ingredients! I still have plenty of frozen ready-made-meals, the difference is they are not coming in disposable plastic wrapped container 😂

I just wanted to share, mostly because I have no one to talk with about this. I wonder what other changes I’ll experience down the road!

Am interested in the changes others experienced along the way. I’m most interested in those who weren’t actually dieting and exercising more, what happened when THE ONLY change you made was to cut out processed foods.

Whipped cultured butter

Has anyone whipped the buttermilk back into your butter after churning?

I know to make whipped butter you use cream or milk, but I’m curious and don’t really want to waste anymore cream.

Do you think it be too overpowering to use the same buttermilk churned out of your butter?

Does using milk or cream deafen the flavor of the culture much?

Info just in case: I use kefir. I’m relatively new at this. I’m poor so experimentation is limited.

I did try to search it before asking, but the results are always separated (just how to make cultured butter or just how whip butter) and never about using your own cultured buttermilk on the butter it was just separated from lol

What even is this deal?

Am I missing something?

Deal 1: get 1 credit every other month and pay $17 every other month (which is basically $8.95/mo)

Deal 2: $14.95/mo and get 1 credit every month.

Deal 3: $8.99/mo and get one audiobook every month

These “deals” feel so disproportionate and almost nonsensical? What’s the point?

I‘m most skeptical about Deal 1. What is the point of paying $17 for 1 credit? I feel like I’m missing something or Amazon is playing a funny joke.
