Ronnie’s ex-wife, Melissa, and authorities led by the enigmatic Dr. Pennoire rush to save him from the Balloon Boy. But before they can arrive, the body count rises. Audible UK raised the price of extra top-up credit bundles for annual members so it makes more sense to just renew your 24-credit-annual subscription!

I'm so sad about this, I don't remember any warnings, I was going to buy a five credit bundle and it's gone from £3.60 per credit (£18) to £4.80 per credit (£24). 33% increase.

The 24-credit plan breaks down to about £4.58 per credit so it kinda forces you to consider just renewing the whole subscription because it saves you about £10 overall.

I know the US version is like much more expensive but I was still kinda sad about this, was anyone else taken by surprise?

Listening speed

Had audible for years before I realised you could change the speed of narration 🫣

I generally listen on 2.1x speed unless it’s a comedy book with multiple narrations and I turn it down to about 1.7x.

But today I saw that it goes up to 3.5x and it got me thinking…

What speed do you listen on? Is there anyone out there that listens to 3.5??

5 UK Audible promo codes available

I have a short horror audiobook (just over 2 hours) inspired by NoSleep and classic creepypasta. The stories focus on creepy atmosphere, slow dread, and unsettling endings rather than jump scares.

I’m looking for UK listeners who enjoy this style of horror and are willing to leave an honest review after listening.

The codes will be handed out as first come, first serve, and if not used in 30 days will be redistributed.

Please comment or message me if you’re interested — thanks!

Audible US customer service

What is going on with Audible United States customer service? A few to several years ago, the customer service was excellent. They even recommended a book each time I called and asked about my day. I just re-joined the Audible membership and my experience has been the opposite. Seems like all calls are routed to overseas people who could care less about books or reading. I had to escalate an issue because the representative did not understand the difference between the promotions. But she refused to escalate the issue and just kept giving a run-around. She was nice, but I sincerely think she couldn't understand what I was asking. And just kept circling. So I had to call back, escalate again, and finally got to speak with someone who understood. What happened?

What's the biggest mistake new Audible members make?

Here are a few I see all the time:

Not building a Wish List. When books on your Wish List go on sale, you will get a notification and can often buy them for less than the cost of a credit.

Not exploring the Plus Catalog first. There are thousands of audiobooks included with your membership, so you might find something great without spending a credit.

Using credits on cheap audiobooks. If a book costs less than the value of a credit, it's usually better to pay cash and save your credit for a more expensive title/ 2-for-1 credit deals.

What would you add? Any mistakes you wish someone had warned you about?

Advice on new listens Fantasy version.

I am at a loss on what to listen to next. i’m a fantasy reader. I like Patricia Briggs, Ilona Andrews, crawler carl series, rivers of London series, incryptid series, listening to book 4 of wandering inn but it’s too depressing, clovenhoof, Mark Hayden but he stopped writing, stranger things series, I start listening to something and then I hate the narration so I move on. Bunch of started not ended books in my audible account, the problem I might like the book and not like the narrator or vice versa so its getting problematic

any suggestions?

Looking for a audiobook with a strong female lead

I just listened to the blackened blade by Isla Davon and now in the mood for some kick ass female lead energy. This is still a romance book but I need a female lead who is fully a badass and completely independent. Super strong fighter if possible too.

I have a £10 free credit……

And want to use it wisely on the best audiobook possible. Please drop your recommendations of one audiobook you think is an absolute must listen. Price doesn’t matter just the one you think is an audiobook essential. Thanks :)

Penguin Classics set a release date of 11/02/2027 for a Count of Monte Cristo audiobook of the Robin Buss translation

https://www.penguin.co.uk/books/35482/the-count-of-monte-cristo-by-dumas-alexandre/9781837316199

Don’t know if this is November or February, or if this is really the audiobook that’s been in development but got stalled by Covid, but this is the first time a date of some sort has appeared anywhere for this. Hope some official announcement is soon.

Can't download audible podcasts through libation app?

I am able to download audiobooks and some podcasts inside my computer drive through libation app. However, I don't why I always get this " red screen error message" with some podcasts. They are not dependable. Do you think there is an issue with such podcasts which are not downdable by libation app. I would love to download most podcasts which are free to listen to on audible. Can anyone give me advice on how to download such podcasts or do they think they are off limits?

For The Fans Nyla K

Is this book recorded in duet style narration? I can't imagine Javi pulling off a corvin voice. So I've been putting off buying it on audible. If it's in duet then I'm sold.

.99/month for 3 months, with $20 coupon, haven't received my coupon.

I signed up for this deal on June 27, and still haven't received my $20. I can't chat with audible support, as all I get is the AI chatbot, with no option to chat with a real person. How do I get my coupon?

Reliable Audiobook platform to listen to.

Hi audiobook family, is there any platform in the Indian okay store market for audiobooks other than audible. They have changed something related to their payment and I am just not able to link any of my cards to it.

Appreciate your help! 🙂

Is there a way to filter more than one narrator?

My main bookmark for Audible is just an advanced search of the 90 day new releases in the genre i like with -virtual as the narrator to filter out the Virtual Voice narrations. But, today I noticed a bunch of new books using narrators like "AI Voice Melissa" and "AI Voice A Cast of AI Assisted Voices" so they're not just using "Virtual Voice" anymore. I tried -voice but then it does seem to filter the Virtual Voice narrators. The frustrating part is if you click any of the new narrators it takes you to the Virtual Voice page anyways and it's like they decided to give these clankers names just to bypass my filter.

I'm just not sure if there's a syntax to include a second narrator in the filter.
