What’s the plural of Lexus?

What’s the plural for Lexus?

Is it Lexi?

Lexuseseseses

Is there a collective name for them? A brood of Lexus?

Equally applies to other brands

(Only asking as just seen a transporter full of them)

New life into an old tatty cabinet

This started off as a tatty old wooden unit, had this for years and it simply matched nothing, but was handy storage.

On stripping the wood quality wasn’t great as demonstrated by the drawer front photo.
However I primed thoroughly should anyone along the line want the horrible quality wood finish back, and I took a punt on the top of it being a slightly better quality wood, it was, but only very very slightly. Although there is a chunk of what looks like chipboard on the very back of the top of what appears to be a crude repair job to a gouge made in its life, the rest is solid wood.

I’ve lined the shelves and drawers in sticky back plastic that looks like metal as I thought it would work with the new shiny stainless hardware - I hate painted handles, the top has a sheet of acrylic which not even the 24 hours after fitting has been scratched by the cats (guilty party in the photos).

The jar is about 99% of the shellac? which was manually scraped off (some escaped, some wasn’t properly collected)

I know not everyone likes old furniture being painted, but this piece really wasn’t looked after in a past life before us and barely anything on there was original to start with, also as mentioned its colour matched nothing, so this gives it a new look and life as a continued usable piece of furniture.

On top of that, it previously had that old musty wood smell, and not a pleasant smell either, now it’s fresh and not at all ‘scented’

Delivery drivers in this heatwave

I’m due a delivery and would like to offer the driver an ice drink in a bottle so they can take it away.

I’m thinking of just putting a single use bottle of water (sealed / unused single 500ml from a multi pack) in the freezer and then giving them that so they can use it as a ice pack and then drink when it thaws out a bit.

Good idea or bad idea? Or are they simply not allowed to accept it?

Has anyone else had this issue? B&Q product break on first use

We bought a new paint sprayer from B&Q, and it’s broken on it’s first use 😳

Followed the instructions to the letter, sprayed what we needed to with undercoat, during the long cleaning process one of the fixed on levers (prime / spray) fell off on its own no idea how or why?? now it unsurprisingly doesn’t work properly.

The box didn’t appear to be a resold return item, unless it was repackaged at the warehouse, as I saw no retaping attempt and all contents were well packaged in what I assume original bindings.

Bit miffed to be honest and now need to return this (it’s the big airless Erbauer paint sprayer 600w £200+ model), bought it Friday. 😕

So, replace with another of the same and hope for the best or can anyone recommend any better version available? Needs to be able to spray furniture, and yes we did thin the paint according to the instructions, probably even thinner than suggested tbf.

Currently binging a still going series…

I’m up to book 14 (currently of 22?), and I really love this series, however as I’m getting through them rather quickly as I’m binging them, and I know the author is still writing them (next one in the series I’ve heard is due in October).

Should I slow down or save a book to refresh before going into the new release when it comes? Or no point and just slow down when I have to?

It’s the Roy Grace series by Peter James and each one is excellent, easily he’s become a favourite author.

I’ve read series books before but often found them meh / boring or same old so quickly gave up on them, these have me on the edge of my seat and I must finish as I need to know what happens next

Ribbon on picture I picked up last week has shifted 😬

I’m asking as I don’t know if this is something we can fix, if they’re able to come out or if I’ll have to take it back there for fixing. Please advise next steps for me and what to expect.

I got a t shirt framed last week with vip pictures, ribbon and the vip tag, and it only got put up today and, well, the ribbon’s come loose in 2 places, it looks like it was secured with sticky back tape.

I’m not sure how to proceed, please advise. It was fine in the framers shop but either shifted on way back or whilst it was being stored (collected Wednesday afternoon 10th)

What happened today on / near M5?

Travelling back up the M5 after portishead about 6 or 7 police cars including a number of unmarked cars went top speed (one at least well over a ton!) all had blues / sirens going and all seemed to be headed towards either the docks or the airport, though I may be wrong about that.

Wtf was going on?

Roy Grace series by Peter James

I’m steadily working my way through these and I’m currently over half way through book 10 in the series.

Those who know the books know about the continuing back story of the ex wife Sandy, I’ve readied the book in my library, but wanted to ask when is the best time to listen to it so I don’t get spoilers from it and so I don’t go so far forward it’s no longer relevant?

Google is giving me mixed answers on this

I have liked Peter James as a author for a while now, and these books are excellent (though Host is still his best imo) so I really don’t want anything to spoil that

Raggberg, what are the measurements?

I’ve seen this little bench and I would like to get some little lidded boxes for the space, but nowhere on its description does it say the measurements of this area.

Height yes, depth yes, length yes, even the clearance of the gap at the base.

Please can someone advise on what the measurements are for this area - I’ve crudely highlighted it to show the area where I mean

RAM mirror age?

(Uk) We recently redecorated a room in our house and I stripped and repainted the RAM mirror that was in there (15 years since last done). But I’m pretty sure the mirror wasn’t new in there last time it was decorated and I can’t find anything on google to tell me.

So, please help solve this itch for me and let me know when I likely bought this mirror?

Due biopsy, how do they know they biopsied the correct area?

I’m due a uterine biopsy soon and they say that they can use a camera and lancing device in one, but how do they know that they’ve got the correct area?

I mean if I for examples sake have a problem with my pinkie finger and they biopsy from my middle finger will they still be able to see the correct result?

I’m really concerned about this as you can imagine

Child’s dress from a shower curtain?

A few years back I made my granddaughter an Elsa dress and she loved it and wore it to death.

Now she’s outgrown it, she wants another one, so I was going to make a few changes this time around.

First time I dip dyed satin (I can’t remember if it was duchess or not) and it being polyester and having to do it in a pan over the stove it was more than a pita to achieve.

So I’ve seen a shower curtain that has the same dip dyed effect on it, it’s polyester so not the shiny plastic type.

Can it be used? and what are the (if any) restrictions on attaching embellishments like sequins to the top of it?

Been a fan over 40 years, but only just recently found out…

I’ve been a diehard fan for over 40 years since I first watched the film for the first time, but I’ve only just found out that Charles Gray was Blofeld in James Bond! (Diamonds are forever) it’s one of Sean Connerys as well!

I feel like I’ve been living under a rock or something 😬

Got probable cancer diagnosis yesterday and I don’t know what to do / how to feel

I have been experiencing extreme pain for a little while now and ended up having to visit the ED yesterday.

They ran a few tests, including a CT scan on the area that’s causing me pain and long story shorter, they found a large mass that shouldn’t be there, and told me by it’s presence, size and something else that I can’t remember it points to the likelihood that it’s a cancer. I’m 53f

They booked me in for a 2 week wait (standard procedure) with a specialist and it’s likely that a removal operation is on the cards as I’m unsure how they’d biopsy otherwise.

I went to bed last night numb, and today I still feel numb, I told my child who lives with us, but not my eldest child yet as I don’t know how to.

I really don’t know how I feel about this, I’m still in shock right now and don’t know how to proceed. I was medically retired a few years ago so I have way too much time on my hands.

We all had a whale of a time, so much fun was had, and I even managed to stand with assistance for the photo, BB is helping to hold me up.

We did the nips t shirt I was thinking about yesterday, and it even got a giggle from PQ and all 3 signed it for us 🥰 (going to frame it and mount it somewhere)

All were absolutely beautiful lovely people, with NC of course our queen 🥰

I have an old footstool, nothing spectacular but I don’t really want to add to landfill if I can refresh it.

The stool currently has paint (wasn’t intentional) on both the fabric and the legs, so I’m hoping to maybe spray paint the legs and recover the fabric part entirely, it’s not too old so I’d like to imagine any foam filling underneath is in pretty much any shape.

Thing is, I’ve never done anything like this before, closest thing was recovering a sofa / couch main seat cushion and creating a complete replacement with furniture foam and fabric. Now I’m aware that has the benefit of being able to hide the opening at the back - a footstool everything is on display 24/7

I’m pretty good even if I say so myself with a sewing machine and overlocker for seams. but I’m going to need a walkthrough to this to ensure everything stays tight and neat as I’ve never done this before

So umm help 🥺

We’re going as various ’forms’ of Columbia, and this is to be worn by a straight man

I was going to paint / embroider the half nips that escape from Columbias outfit (repeatedly) onto a plain t shirt

Does it work do you think, it will be in context as we’re going to have (separately) sparkles Columbia as well
