My local theatre is having auditions for The Rocky Horror this month and I desperately want Columbia she's been my dream role for ages. If you've played Columbia please comment with what song got you the role or if you have any suggestions I would love to hear. My plan right now is to sing What I Know Now from Beetlejuice in a nasal/Columbia voice.
I finished watching the movie about an hour ago. Loved it. I was good enough not to spoil the entire thing for myself with YouTube clips this time, so I totally did not expect how the plot turned out. And it was so nice!
... Only one scene kind of made me feel uncomfortable. That is, Frank's scene in both Janet's and Brad's bedrooms. I mean, they did not want to have sex with him, both wanted to save themselves for their partner (justly, one can choose with who to have their first time, can't they?), but no he insists so much that they resign and have sex with him.
Now I'm sure I'm interpreting this the wrong way and Frank isn't the creep I'm making him to be... But does someone here have an explanation as to why this isn't problematic? This is the only thing I want to ask.
I don't intend to call the movie problematic, it's only Frank I'm talking about. Thanks to who will bother to reply. It's just these types of scenes (with non consensual sex, I mean) make me feel a liiiittle overwhelmed.

I absolutely loveeee going to the show every year!! I NEED to be apart of the shadow cast. Best experience ever meeting the original cast. BTW my shirt said “Barry will you pop my cherry?” LMAOOO I also made my shoes last year!! This show brings out so much creativity with everyone. Can’t wait to go back 🖤🖤
I'm in my local shadow cast for RHPS. I have been chosen to portray rocky but I'm looking into buying and or making a muscle suit. Would you happen to know where to buy one that doesn't break the bank or how to make one from scratch that also doesn't brake the bank??? (Definitely not interested or going to wear any cheap Halloween muscle suit). I want it to look extra but not spirit Halloween, any ideas or suggestions will help!!
If they ever decided to remake RHPS, I’d really love to see Robert Pattinson as Frankenfurter. I feel he just has amazing range in his acting and could totally pull it off.

I've just started watching the season of AMC's The Vampire LeStat. I immediately thought how incredible Sam Reid, the actor who plays Lestat, would be as FranknFurter. As much as I love Luke Evans as an actor, he can't come close to Tim Curry. And I understand, as an actor, myself, that every actor that recreates a role brings their own to a role, Tim Curry was so iconic that no one else can touch his performance. And yet, watch Sam Reid singing in his glam rock performances and tell me you can't see him as the sexiest Frankfurter since Tim.
I'm thinking of dipping my toes into my local RHPS community, as I've recently learned about the midnight screenings that happen in my city. I've been meaning to go, and I think I finally will... And ofc, I want to go in costume, because I LOVE a good costumed event. I had these pieces in my wardrobe already, so until I can put together a Frank, who I really want to cosplay, I wanted to go the other direction and do my own Femme bimbo rendition of Rocky! What are we thinking? Do people put their own spin on the characters when they cosplay them? (I'll have to get the golden shoes, but those will be easy to get, I think lol). I've seen someone FOREEEVERR ago do a similar concept and I absolutely loved it.
