Muller Road is the middle lane

A: Tesco/Ikea
B: Frenchay AND HORFIELD
C: Everything else

I will die on this hill and my ghost will camp on it and haunt you motherfuckers for eternity.

I don’t give a fuck what the ambiguous lane markings or Google maps says.

Two lanes exit the roundabout so two must enter.

Having a lane merge in the middle of the bloody roundabout makes no damned sense does it?

And that’s before we even get into the queue dynamics of the Sunday trading hours rush.

Anyone who says otherwise, including possibly the lane markers themselves are just wrong and stupid. Don’t listen to them. Listen to me.

If you make a mistake I will try to politely let you in but don’t embarrass yourself by yelling at me about it.

How to properly dispose of previous' tenants dirty stuff?

Hey, sorry if this is the wrong flair. But just moved into a new place and there are 2 boxes of the previous tenants' dirty plates and tupperware, along with a disgusting rug and an office chair. My landlord said he contacted them to come get them but they aired him, and to bin them. I live in the stokes croft area and in the past have had nightmares trying to get my bins collected at the best of times. One random person pulls up the lid and tosses their vape or takeaway in there overnight and then I have to wait until the next week and hope for better luck. I don't want to just dump all this shit on the street for it to sit there for months. But I'm not sure how else to get rid of it that isn't costly or involves me doing someone else's ancient washing up just to donate them. Big item collection doesn't seem to be the solution either. Any ideas?

What is the overall vibes of the place? Is it good for young professionals etc? I'll be working in the NHS

Reddit always seems to be so negative so I'm a little scared but word of mouth I always hear great things

Evening craft meet up Kingswood.

Hello!
Do you like making stuff? Do you like a pint of something nice with a bowl of chips? Do you sometimes enjoy talking to people? Or sometimes would rather be around people but are a bit shy or anxious to be that person who starts up the conversation? Do you work all day and miss the daytime and weekend meet ups? Then do I have the club for you!

Craft and draft meet every Tuesday at The Rose and Crown Two Mile Hill at 7pm. We have the usual knitters and crocheters, but we’ve had artists, weavers, spinners, embroidery, macrame, even origami! Any craft that’s portable is encouraged.

We are open to everyone! Yes, that includes you too fellas.

No fees. But it would be nice for you to support the pub with a drink as we don’t have to pay to use the space they reserve for us.

Most updates are posted on IG @craftanddraftbristol

PS. When I first started the club back in Jan and shared everyone was very positive and lovely and someone noted that indeed it should be “Craft and Draught” (beer) but the name stuck, and I just want you to know your comment has indeed haunted me for 6 months.

Place to do an exam

Hey. It’s my first time posting in here but I have an online exam coming up soon and I stay in a house share so I’m looking for somewhere that is private and has internet to take it without being too expensive.

Recs for wavy/curly hair friendly hairdressers

I’ve got wavy/curly hair and I am on a journey to embrace my natural hair. I usually get my hair cut at Bonomini who are great (and I really recommend them) but they don’t have anyone who specialises in curly cuts.

I want to get my hair cut by someone who specialises in wavy/curly cuts. A few years ago I went to Tame the Mane in Easton (I think that was the name) and had an awful experience. I told the lady I was growing my hair and said I think I might have wavy hair and she just hacked about 3.5 inches off. Anyway I don’t want to return there.

Hmu with your recs. Anywhere in Bristol, I’m willing to travel. Thank you!

community sport recommendations

hello! i’m looking to start some sort of new sport or exercise or SOMETHING like that.

I need to stress i am not fit, I’m not athletic or flexible or any of this (i would love to be!) but i need a new hobby that gets me out of the house, ideally with a bit of a team / community feel. i have a two year old, so in terms of team sports i dont think anything with super rigid commitments like leagues or games etc would fit.

i’ve done roller derby and i loved it, but i really injured myself and don’t think i can do something like that again haha. i hate running, i’m really not into yoga and i can’t swim. pretty much anything else i’m open to!

i work 8-5 mon-fri and pick up my son from nursery so would have to be post 7pm, in south bristol, preferably not £45 a go. i feel like ive exhausted local facebook pages and noticeboards so any advice is greatly appreciated :) thank you!

any bristol metalheads that wanna be friends and go to events?

hey!

i just realised that i don't have a single friend in bristol who likes metal. i am trying to go to more music events this year, but i am quite anxious about going alone. i'd love to make some friends who like metal stuff and would be up for going to metal gigs together in/near bristol

for reference, i am a 25yo woman and a postgrad student at the university (so a nerd). i don't drink or smoke but idc if you do or don't, as long as u respect that i'm not gonna :)

i kinda love all music in general, which extends to all the subgenres of metal. and i love finding new stuff. but some of my fave bands include be'lakor, gojira, lorna shore, persefone, white chapel, bmth (i was an emo teen ok?), spiritbox, jinjer, shokran...but i love so many more and all of the most classic stuff like slipknot, metallica, tool, megadeth etc :D

so yeah if ur cool, into metal, and around my age and want to be friends/go to gigs together hmu

Question about seagulls

I just had a random thought- in the past- let’s say the 18th century when there was a huge class divide and people were living in extreme poverty unable to buy food is there a chance these people would have just survived by catching seagulls and eating them?

It would make sense a there is such an abundance of them everywhere constantly and they are all pretty tame to the point they would be easy to catch- I’ve tried googling it but nothing comes up

St Philips Causeway - Roundabout.

So, Image A is the correct uses of the lanes. Image B is how people use the roundabout. Yet complain when people use the correct lanes? Someone explain this mentality please.

Most affordable areas for renting

Hey so I'm asking on behalf of my girlfriend on which parts of Bristol are the best for renting. My girlfriend has been living in Bradley Stoke for the past year however she's thinking of moving to a different area, and she's finding it difficult where to look. Her maximum is £600-£650. As I'm not Bristol but have visited multiple times, I'm just wondering which parts are the most decent for renting and which areas she should avoid?

Where to go clubbing solo?

I was planning on going out clubbing alone tonight but i'm a little nervous about getting rejected at the door or kicked out when a bouncer asks "where are your friends?". For some additional context im M22 and bi, well kept and smart. I dont look even half as sketchy or dodgy as some of the other people that get let in but still worried.

I'm mostly asking because I previously got kicked out after buying a couple of drinks at Barbaras while looking for the loos. A bouncer came up to me and asked me where my friends are, i told them i was here alone and then they proceed to guide me to the door and say "it was a mistake sorry, whoever let you in made a mistake sorry". I didnt make a fuss about getting kicked out but i also did not do anything wrong and it really soured the evening. I was occasionally chatting with a few people before i left to use the toilets, just having fun and dancing like everyone else.

If anyone knows where to go for a good night or wants to join up together I'd love to hear from you :D

What is the awesome music I can hear from St Paul’s this morning?

I woke up and between 11:20 - 11:25 this morning (July 4th, treason day) I heard this amazing music blasting very loud from where I live in St Paul’s. It sounded live. I liked it very much.

Of course there is some big event going on somewhere, but I live under a rock as I work 60 hour weeks and I’m way too tired to be social most of the time, so please be nice!
