Knoops Bristol closed

I moved to London when this was opening up, I thought Bristol was turning a corner. Are shops struggling a lot?

Especially closing before busy hot chocolate season, it must have been really bad

Chicken burgers similar to Schwartz Bros in Bath?

those burgers during my uni days were the the greatest, it’s something like a thin crispy (not overly crispy) breaded (i think?) chicken, like a schnitzel i guess is the best way to describe but it’s so juicy and flavourful and not like a dry chicken breast either

tl;dr possibly looking for a schnitzel kind of burger or a very elevated mayo chicken in terms of the chicken

anyone got any recommendations? preferably in west/elizabeth line

Blind to bitterness?

Today I wanted to get more out of my coffee so I thought I’d try an experiment. I usually grind pretty fine with an aero press following james hoffman recipe and i did 2 cups side by side to compare

my usual grind, and a very coarse grind (coarser than i’ve ever done looking at the gaps in the burr) using comandante mk3 (i think not sure which exact model)

the difference was crazy, only side by side i could tell how bitter it was in the original, and there was so much more clarity

but still, i never had an issue in hindsight, i’m using light roasts as always, but going from that to coarse was crazy, because it felt like it unveiled my blindness to bitterness, i really didn’t think it was bitter at all compared to office coffee

anyone else had a similar revelation? the coarse grind had so much clarity and no bitterness at all, i feel pretty disappointed that i was drinking with way too fine grinds tbh

also in hindsight i can now tell how muddy it tastes when its too fine, thinking back i always equated it to coffee taste in general

West Ealing waitrose coffee?

Does anyone know where the coffee machine is there? I think waitrose do the free coffee but I haven’t seen it there

I only really go waitrose to get the tom parker chocolate milk, so I don’t really go that often to check myself

thank you

Elizabeth line new timetable May 17th

Apparently more peak time trains stop at Acton, Hanwell, Southall towards Central London

Email below:

On Sunday 17 May, a new timetable will be introduced on the Elizabeth line.

From 07:40 until 09:00, additional morning peak services into central London will stop at Acton Main Line, Hanwell and Southall.

This change will increase capacity and help make weekday morning peak journeys into central London smoother and more consistent.

i think i’m planning to wait the 2 years and grab a cheap one when they sell off the lease ones, what happens to those? i assume auctioned off?

i’m thinking they will be ridiculously cheap because tesla will take the hit for the cheap lease since there’s going to be so many of them flooding the market?

what do you guys think?

I just wanted to know anyone else running a high mileage car.

I drive a honda jazz, 05 plate, 165k miles, bought it at 97k miles. Runs like a dream and seems bulletproof, its my first car so I've done some silly things like run it without oil for months and months and it still runs amazingly.

Don't feel like there's a need to upgrade either unless im status chasing, because this car does everything I need it do, storage, practicality, fun, long drives, short drives. I just use my phone mounted and that's about it in terms of mods, couldn't ask for anything more

I would keep it for life but I assume it will rust eventually, but seems fine for now
