Did Graham Chapman recycle a bit of "Nudge Nudge" in Doctor at Large?

I've just watched the Doctor at Large episode Let's Start at the Beginning (1971) and was struck by how similar one scene feels to Monty Python's "Nudge Nudge" sketch.

What's particularly interesting is that the episode was co-written by Graham Chapman. Since "Nudge Nudge" had already appeared on Python in 1969, it feels as if Chapman is recycling Python?

The scene has the same basic dynamic: a character desperately fishing for salacious information through increasingly transparent innuendo while trying not to be asking anything improper.

I'm not suggesting it's a direct remake of "Nudge Nudge", but the rhythm and structure felt remarkably familiar, even the hand actions are similar!

Has anyone else noticed this? Was Chapman known for re-using python material, or am I reading too much into it?

I'd also be interested to know whether the scene was written by Chapman specifically, or whether it originated with Bernard McKenna or in the writers' room.
