I call it “Large Mouth”
I was inspired by large mouth bass. Handspun herdwick and stricken lonk wools dyed with buckthorn leaves and an iron after-bath. One picture against white to better show the color and then the aesthetically pleasing photo 😅.

My dad is headed to Japan this fall. Are there any yarns I should have him keep an eye out for?
I noticed my Hebridean top wanted to spin thin so I decided to test my skills and the wool. Made this 2ply.
Here are the final results of my experiment with ecoprinting on wool top that I spun up (singles and plied). The color shifts were the cosmos were are very subtle but visible enough that I could see trying this again with higher contrasting colors.
I used carrot tops, rosemary, thyme, marigolds, cosmos, and yew branches.
I decided to experiment with ecoprinting on some wool top that I plan on spinning. Turned out very cool but I don’t think I will ever do it with thyme again 😅. I used thyme, rosemary, fresh sulfur cosmos, whole dried marigold flowers, and some yew (I had no idea if the yew would work but had trimmed the one in the yard so threw it in the bundle). I’ll post the yarn once it is spun up.
Also, I also don’t recommend using poly felt to wrap everything when trying this because the wool got a bit stuck in it. I had it and wasn’t using it so decided to try it as a reusable wrap but I think a plastic tablecloth or cotton sheet would be better.
