Date of manufacture and Serial number
A reseller of a Grand Seiko will not reveal a serial number for security reasons while also claiming they don't know the manufacturing date (month and year) of the watch.
The reference was introduced after CY 2000 and information published and publicly available by Grand Seiko explains how to determine the month/year of manufacturing using the serial number.
Also, while papers (i.e. Guarantee) are included in the sale, the document is in Japanese. Not knowing the language, I'm inferring a date shown on the document (found as part of the gallery of photos) is related to the watch's manufacturing date. Do you have any experience or insights here?
I'm asking for your guidance on how to best manage this issue as I'm seriously considering purchasing this watch if the time is right! (Pun intended 😉)
