Loving the green birch!
Picked it up in Japan second hand. It looks amazing in direct sunlight, interior lights, and in an onsen! Excited to have a high beat and hopefully will get a spring drive as well some day on another trip back.
First Few Months with the SBGX349
After a few months on the wrist, I figured it was time to finally post about this beauty, the SBGX349. I bought it from u/jdaclutch (easily the best seller I've ever worked with) after spending several years hunting around for one in my price range. The 34mm size is perfect for my dainty wrists. I tend to prefer a smaller presence on the wrist anyway, and I feel like this size is my sweet spot. I wanted a everyday work watch that could be dressed up or down, and this lil guy fits the bill for me.
The only challenge I'm running into is the strap - I tried to show the range of colors from the dial in different lights, but it has a definite purpleish tinge to it that I haven't quite nailed down a satisfactory strap color for. I want a brown strap, but I don't love how the typical blue dial choice of "chocolate" brown looks on it. I like the more orange/honey sea snake strap (pics 2, 4, and 5) I have but I'm still not totally sold. I really enjoy the gray nubuck on it, but it has more of a winter feel to it than I want for the summer/fall, and the light tan sailcloth just isn't high quality enough to be worn to work (it frays from the holes)
Does anyone have any advice (and pictures) of browns straps that pair well with a more purpley-blue dial?
Beach time in coastal maine
The bracelet is superb and the new locking feature is very welcomed, as well as the absolute burly beasts that are the spring bars
Land, sea or air…
It’s a good day for some top notch quartz
Sbgx355 vs sbgx263
Good afternoon,
I'm currently looking to buy either of these models as a GADA 1 watch collection. I plan on wearing this watch in casual environments all the way up to black tie, I would say I lean more formal in my clothes. I prefer an understated, professional look.
Which of these would you guys suggest, both honestly probably are good enough for my situation, I'm just trying to split hairs and come to a final decision.
Love This Watch
I had gotten this SLGB003 watch back in March, and it truly has been a dream of a watch! Genuinely, since getting it I have a hard time wearing my other watches. I catch myself during work days looking at its dial. This has quickly become my daily wear watch.
Grand Seiko Bracelet on SBGY009
I was enjoying this watch on its original dark blue alligator strap, but thought it would look great and a bit sportier with a bracelet. I don’t believe Grand Seiko ever made a bracelet specifically for this model, but after doing some research, I came across a part number which several owners indicated fit perfectly. My local Grand Seiko dealer ordered the bracelet from Japan. It took around four months, and it finally arrived last week. I’m very pleased with it and wanted to share a photo.
New clasps for the White Birch?
I spoke to my AD and wanted to order a White Birch SLGH005. Today I was told that the White Birch has been taken out of the range and will be available again in October with a new clasp.
Have I missed something? I didn’t realise that was the case.
Go GS, Way to go
I feel this guy has accurately scored all major watch brands.
VC deserves to be on the top and GS also deserves the points it got.
We are kinda lucky to have GS models at $10k given how 💩 other watches are in same bracket.
Similar quality Swiss watches go for x3 prices of GS.
Haven’t seen anyone’s on the factory rubber strap
In love with the new SLGB025 and cant get enough of the dial! Now to find the right matching nato 🤔
My first GS! sbgx263 Phenomenal watch and craftsmanship!
Such an elegant watch and I love its classic 37mm size. Impressive build and craftsmanship down to every little detail. That dial is just stunning.
4 months of ownership
I picked up this sbgm247 in Tokyo in March and I gotta say- absolute zero buyers remorse! if you’re looking for a GS with a little bit of weight, not too flashy but amazing looks I highly suggest you look at this watch and it’s a blue counterpart sbgm245. While I do enjoy the typical titanium lightness of my Shunbun, there’s just something satisfying about the weight of the stainless steel. The colors just caught my eye while outside in the sun this morning, so I figured I’d share with my fellow GS enthusiasts.
SBGX121 & SBGX341- when modern aesthetic meets old school cool
Not sure what more do I need, think I'm done done for a long while.
Changed the strap . Changes the look completely
Got new straps from Delugs . Makes the Shunbun look very different
[SLGB003]
This watch teleports me back to one of the few most tranquil moments in my life. Snowboarding above the clouds in deep powder glades and sitting down on pillowy snow. Crack open a beer and its sound echoes through the trees otherwise complete silence and a peacefulness not many have the privilege of ever experiencing. If you have been as fortunate then cheers. This is what this watch means to me.
