My NC buddy makes some pretty damn good music. Livermush and grape jelly on a biscuit good, I daresay.

I’ve recently picked up a few old external frame packs at thrift stores. I bought them for Halloween, a Blair Witch Project group costume thing, but they’re still pretty solid. Seams seem intact, not much photodegradation, frames seem to be solid and free from warping, all that.

I’d like to actually take them out and use them for weekend hikes, but I’ve never used external frame packs, only internal. If anyone has any advice on packing them and that sort of thing, I’d appreciate it. I’m trying to look things up and I keep getting AI responses. My main concern is packing them so that they’re balanced. I’m over forty and clumsy, so I try to be a bit more careful when I have a pack on my back now.

Goofy question, yes, but I’m a complete dork and this is the stuff that wanders through my mind at times.

Does anyone know what backpacks the trio carried into the woods? I’m at work right now and can’t watch clips to try to see the brands. I’ve recently found some external frame packs at thrift stores and think it would be fun to do a little Blair Witch costume group for Halloween. I’ll end up using what I’ve bought regardless, but I’m still curious about what they carried.
