Multi-species fish kill and noxious odor reported on Middle Fork New River

This comes just days after the federal government rolled back regulations on dumping of toxic industrial wastewater. Folks, it’s time to get involved and go vote. Hammer your representatives with calls and emails telling them to grow a spine and take action. If you want future generations to enjoy our waterways and natural resources the way we have, something has to be done now.

This man is a creep and has no game. Seriously texted the staffer “I might jump your bones. Watch out!!!" and “Just don’t let me catch you in the room alone.” Eeeww, just gross. Not sure why people voted for this guy but here we are.

Pools Are Opening: Swimsuit Safety

It's summer soon! Remember that children's bathing suits should always be a super bright neon color! The safest colors are orange, green, yellow, and pink. Neon pink is for pools, not lakes. I'm talking blindingly bright neon.

Silent drowning is very serious. Aesthetics don't matter when it comes to child safety. Dress them for their needs, not your pictures. In the same vein, the more neon cloth, the easier it is to spot! Full one piece, rash guards, etc. Two pieces are adorable, but more coverage is better for safety!

Earthmoving MSU in North Carolina has stolen my $35,850!

After some research of Earthmoving MSU, supposedly located in Mount Olive NC, like an idiot, I wired them $35,850 for a Bobcat track steer to be delivered to Maine.

Yes, I’m an idiot. I don’t need to be shit on, I need help, please.

So I was to have the delivery sent to my daughter’s place where I need to finish her leach field. I left a job site, drove an hour and there was no delivery. I called and they said they e-mailed me. My bad. I should have stopped working and been an office boy for a bit. I asked them to call with the next issues.

Second delivery didn’t happen again. E-mail a few hours before delivery time and date. No calls.

Third delivery, same thing. No call, no delivery. I cancelled the order.

Nearly 100 e-mails. They supposedly send a cashiers check and UPS supposedly did wrong. An investigation shows that it was sent from Rhode Island but it was also sent from maybe Tennessee?Jim says they can’t send me funds for 90 days because someone could have stolen the check and maybe they’d cash it. We all know that all they had to do was cancel the check.

I’ve researched them more now and they’re not located where the website says they are. I had a friend call them (because they won’t take my calls anymore) and they said they were located there. I spoke to the police and the town code enforcement. Code says there is no occupation there and the police physically confirmed it for me.

So now I’ve been able to get the NC Secretary of State involved and they have shown that Earthmoving is supposedly located in Moore County. Moore County sheriff’s office has confirmed the supposed location is a residence.

Located at:
7264 NC Highway 105
Eagle Springs, NC 27242

So I’ve given Earthmoving the insight to my fraud investigation and they supposedly were going to send me a check today with an arrival on Friday. Today, after several requests for a status update I’m told they’re working on it.

I’d like a few things. First, does anyone know about Earthmoving MSU? Can you give me actual information?

Can anyone help me know what path to take to make this return actually happen?

Does anyone know how to research them a bit deeper? Maybe you know someone who knows how to track down scammers?

And last, can we absolutely destroy their phone system by calling and letting them know that they are well known for theft, immoral and unethical actions? Their number is 336-850-3078.

Thank you!

Searching for rural land in NC for low-cost vet clinic and animal sanctuary

I’m looking to relocate and purchase rural/agricultural land in North Carolina or a nearby state for a serious long-term mission I’ve been building toward for years.

I’m selling my current property and planning to acquire land where I can establish a low-cost veterinary clinic, animal rescue and sanctuary, ranch, village-style community, and long-term nonprofit campus centered around animal welfare and sustainable living. The vision includes care for multiple species, rehabilitation, daycare/boarding, agricultural components.

At the same time, the property will also need to support remote professional work, so reliable internet connectivity and long-term infrastructure viability matter to me.

This is not a hobby farm or passive retirement idea. I’m looking for land that can realistically support a large-scale, long-term operational vision.

I’m specifically looking for RA-zoned, agricultural, or unrestricted rural land with enough acreage for animals, future structures, expansion, and multiple operational uses. Multiple parcels would be ideal.

I do not want to be completely isolated. I want reasonable access to infrastructure, hospitals, veterinarians, contractors, supplies, staffing, and a diverse community. I’m trying to find a place where I can build something meaningful and sustainable while still being connected to the real world.

My biggest concerns are:

  • zoning and land-use flexibility
  • affordability of acreage
  • flood risk and drainage
  • wildfire and natural disaster exposure
  • long-term climate resilience
  • distance from major industrial corridors or nuclear plants
  • whether the county is realistically supportive of agricultural and nonprofit animal operations

I’ve been researching parts of the NC Piedmont so far, but I’d really appreciate insight from people who actually know these areas well.

Which counties should I seriously look into, and which ones should I avoid?
