What would have happened if Mallory McMorrow stayed until the end of the primary?

I believe that Mallory McMorrow would have had a surprising performance getting second place, but Abdul El-Sayed would have eventually won by a slim margin and she would’ve endorsed him soon after. What do you think?

If Abdul El-Sayed does win the primary, how much would he win the general election?

If Abdul El-Sayed won by 5% or more in the general election, that might change the narrative that a left-wing populist can win decisively in a swing state like Michigan. If he won by 3% or less, would that suggest his coalition is more limited, or would it simply reflect how competitive Michigan has become? What margin do you think would be politically significant?

Why I’m confident that Roy Cooper will win the U.S. Senate seat in 2026

He’s never lost a statewide election since 2000 and never lost an election overall since 1986 when he first ran for public office. That’s it.

FUN FACT: In 2012, he ran unopposed for the NC Attorney General election because the Republicans did even try to field a candidate.

Abdul El-Sayed will have a 2032 problem

Let’s say Abdul El-Sayed wins both the Democratic primary and the general election in Michigan this year. If so, his biggest political challenge may come in 2032, when he’ll be seeking reelection.

Michigan has been a competitive battleground state in recent presidential and Senate elections since 2016. Because of that, some argue that a senator representing the state needs to balance progressive priorities with policies that appeal to a broader electorate. In other words, be a pragmatic progressive senator.

El-Sayed has campaigned on populist policies like Medicare for All, but legislation of that scope faces significant hurdles in the Senate, especially given the 60-vote threshold often needed to overcome a filibuster. If elected, he might instead pursue more incremental reforms or seek bipartisan compromises on some issues.

Why do some younger leftists label Democratic moderates and centrists as right-wing?

I’m an unaffiliated voter, but I usually vote Democratic. One thing I’ve noticed, especially online, is that some younger leftists describe Democratic moderates and centrists as “right-wing.” That characterization doesn’t seem accurate to me.

The Democratic Party has historically been a broad center-left coalition that includes centrists, moderates, liberals, progressives, democratic socialists, and even some conservatives on certain issues. Disagreeing with progressives doesn’t necessarily make someone right-wing.

Why do you think this perception exists? Is it mostly an online phenomenon, or does it reflect a broader shift in how political labels are being used? Where do you think Democratic moderates and centrists fit within today’s Democratic Party?

I hated this Good Times episode, especially the Evans’s children

I watched the Good Times episode “The Big Move: Part 2.” I hated the children’s behavior (except JJ) to Florida dealing with the death of her husband James. You can’t always expect a wife/mother to be crying or sad during the day of funeral. Different people grieve differently in their own ways. Laughter is the best medicine in this type of situation. The children should have been more understanding and put on a brave face, not acting like children and being mad because she didn’t cry.

Their Greatest Hits by the Eagles was the first album I listened to

I started listening to albums during the first few weeks of COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. This was the first album I listened to from beginning to end on YouTube and have been a fan of the Eagles since then. Over the summer of that year, I listened to other classic rock albums by Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel, Queen, and Bruce Springsteen. I’m very sad that the Eagles will be disbanding this year, but their songs and this best-selling album will never be forgotten.

I’m still supporting Mallory McMorrow in the primary

I can’t vote in the primary because I don’t live in Michigan, but I do live in a battleground state like Michigan. Abdul El-Sayed is a great candidate, but the problem I see for him is if he wins the primary and the general election this year, 2032 will be a huge problem for him to maintain the seat due to him being progressive in a swing state like Michigan. Also, I believe that his agenda won’t get passed in a polarizing U.S. Senate that neither party can get 60 seats nowadays. Mallory McMorrow is a safe bet if we have a greater chance of winning the seat this year. She’s a pragmatic candidate and has more legislative experience than El-Sayed that might work well in her favor in the primary. If she loses in the primary, I’ll support El-Sayed in the general election.

Why do most people online hate Scary Movie 6?

I liked the movie. I understood most of the jokes and references to other films and films the in the franchise. Why the hate? Rotten Tomatoes agrees with me.

The Social Reckoning (Oscar acting nominations)

I recently watched the teaser trailer for The Social Reckoning, and most likely Jeremy Strong and Mikey Madison will be getting Oscar acting nominations. Jeremy Strong for Best Supporting Actor and Mikey Madison for Best Actress. What do you think?

Mikey Madison is currently my favorite actress (and celebrity crush)

Since Mikey Madison won her Oscar for Anora, I’ve been a fan of hers. What I like about her is she’s Gen Z like me, she’s down to earth, and doesn’t invite drama in her life. She deserved that Oscar, and I hope that they’ll be more successful roles for her soon.

CMV: Accountability doesn’t exist anymore when it comes to celebrities and their fans

We’re sadly living in a time where celebrities and their fans will defend their bad decisions. Let’s talk about the Hudson William photo. If you see an old photo of a 17 year old teenager with a drawn hate symbol on his forehead, that should at least be concerning. I knew what that symbol meant when I was at least 16 years old and learned about Austrian Painter.

“But he was raised in a white community and was a drunk teenager, so he didn’t know any better.” Spare me the BS.

He should apologize on camera or release an official statement on the photo and how it happened. Did he know what that symbol meant back then? What type of gathering was it that night? Did he know about the drawn symbol during or after the party?

For the Hudson Williams fans that are 100% defending him for the photo, it’s okay to have mixed or conflicting feelings about the photo, but also he needs to held accountable for his past behavior.

“I have a hunch you’re not a fan of Facebook”

I recently watched the teaser trailer of The Social Reckoning, and I heard her clearly saying the line the first time.

I’m excited to watch The Social Reckoning

So many people online are taking the teaser trailer too seriously as if it’s a completed film. If The Social Network is a highly acclaimed film, people should be more open to watch The Social Reckoning. One of the reasons why I’m watching the film is Jeremy Strong and Mikey Madison. Jeremy Strong is a great actor and him playing Mark Zuckerberg will be very interesting to watch. For Mikey Madison (currently my favorite actress), this is her first big role since winning the Oscar for Anora, and the film is mostly about her character Frances Haugen, the whistleblower. With movies that haven’t been released yet, just have an open mind and see it, and then you can criticize after watching the movie.
