Hey everyone,
Before I get into the actual comparison and my honest opinion, I'd like to note that I have been a long time Samsung (in general) and Galaxy user - ever since S5
I recently decided to trade in my S25u for the S26u, so I had some time to compare the two phones
The looks - I feel like I prefer the s26 design over the s25, might totally have to do with the fact that I got the Silver Shadow color option, and pretty much all my previous phones were black
The display - I am not sure how to put it in a way, where I don't potentially offend a bunch of people, but the s26u feels like the biggest disappointment in a while and quite an underwhelming device, mostly due to its display - I understand it has a lot, if not everything to do with the privacy option, pixels etc, but honestly, the display comparison is night and day between the two flagships
The s26u's display is way too bright and I mean up to the point where there's hardly any true black with this phone - anything grey and black is just way too washed and bright - I had to switch off the battery background option, because it did annoy me that much - it looked like I've got some cheap replacement display off alibaba
I did try messing around with the screen mode and its advanced settings, but this display isn't getting even remotely close to its predecessor
The camera - honestly, the absurd thing (in a really positive way) that I find about the new camera is the super steady with horizontal lock on option for shooting videos - wow!!
Apart from that, nothing crazy different - the camera is still as solid as, thankfully - loads of options and settings to play around with and if you have the camera assistant plus expert RAW - you are in a universe of settings and options, which I see as a great thing really
One UI 8.5 - quite like it, there's a lot more customization available, depending on personal preference etc
Battery life - pretty much the same as the s25u, nothing major, nothing disappointing
Charging - I got the 60W charger, from 15% battery, it took 40ish minutes for it to charge to 100% which is a win, in my opinion
Overall - I feel like I did a mistake of "upgrading" to the latest Galaxy, mostly because of the display, again - this is my personal opinion and nobody should be entitled to it
