Would like to know whether pacing, character development, emotional arc lands.
The book: Holly Lewis is thirty-nine, newly promoted, separated from her husband, and quietly falling apart. When her father dies, she leaves New York and returns to her hometown of Cohasset for the summer, ostensibly to be with family, really to figure out what her life is actually for. Her mother, Sylvia, is navigating the same grief from the other side of a forty-year marriage, struggling with painkillers and searching for a faith she's never had. It's a book two women learning to accept themselves and each other as they are.
Content warnings: Grief/loss of a parent, prescription drug dependency, marital separation, fertility struggles, some sex scenes
Not suitable for someone who is not open to reading about Christian themes/christianity (though I do not consider this a Christian book)
