Ivy League don’t care about impact anymore?

So I heard somebody online saying that Yale have changed what they’re looking for in students for the next cycle of admission. they’re no longer admitting student for being just impactful. They’re now focusing more on academics like research experience, science fairs participants and awards winners, to regain their prestige.

Does being full pay gives an advantage?

I’m an international student ,my ECs are fine nothing crazy like just one research internship and I have really good grades but I fear that won’t be enough specifically for the UCs since they don’t consider SAT and that’s where I feel I’m above average so does being full pay gives an advantage?
