My USA B1/B2 Biometrics (New Delhi) Experience

Hi guys, so sharing my Biometrics (India) experience because many folks going for the first time are mostly nervous or confused.

I took an overnight Bus from Chandigarh to New Delhi (Ram Dalal Bus ₹1200 sleeper - was good). Then I took the metro from Kashmere Gate to New Delhi Railway Station for ₹21, then changed to the Orange Line and took another metro from New Delhi to Shivaji Stadium Metro Station for ₹21 again.

At Shivaji Stadium Metro Station, exit metro & go upstairs, and voilà, the VAC is right in front of you, along with all the other VFS offices (Canada, Japan, China, Turkey, Greece, etc).

I ONLY carried my passport, appointment confirmation page, old DS-160, and new DS-160. That’s all. I asked them to link my new DS-160, and they did it without any issues or questions at all. (I carried my passport-sized photographs also, but they did not ask)

I did not carry any electronics or wear a watch. You can take your wallet (cards) with you.

I reached around 7:30 am, but the VAC was still closed. So I came back around 9 am for my 9:30 AM appointment. By then, the queue had become a little longer.

Then I deposited my bag/phone in one of those lockers outside of VAC (nearby):

  • Small: ₹100
  • Large: ₹150
  • XL: ₹200

I joined the queue around 9:10–9:15 am, did my biometrics around 9:45 am, and was out by 9:50 am. The actual biometric process at the last counter takes barely 3–5 minutes. (They captured my photo and fingerprints there)

For the interview, you need to carry these same exact documents along with any supporting docs based on your profile/purpose. (My Interview at the US Embassy is yet pending)

Thanks to those who helped me before my Biometrics.

Has anyone applied for Aus PR from India?

Hi, 33F single, IT Professional here. I’m planning to apply for Aus PR from India.

Should I do Ielts or PTE?

What’s the process and how much does it total cost
How much time do they take?

Is there any agent who takes their fee after visa? I connected with a few and all are asking for hefty visa fees upfront.

Any additional tips or suggestions you wanna give?

Why did you choose to be childfree?

Hey folks, I could never imagine that India will have childfree or dog parents. I am annoyed that here women don’t get choice of being pregnant or have kids. Kudos to men who respect women’s choices!

I am curious to know your story:

  1. How or Why did you decide to go childfree?
  2. Which state/city are you from?
  3. Have you find your partner? At what age did you guys meet?, state/city your partner is from?

My Story:

  1. Since teenage years I prayed that God give me a male child and help me in convincing my partner to adopt a girl child. Because I never knew women can have choices. & in Punjab having a girl child is a curse. Ofc this made me a feminist. (not a pseudo one)
Now at age of 31-32 I started seeing the world is too harsh and I dont have lands or businesses to give in legacy so Why bring children to suffer just like I did or doing.
and very recently I got to know about hereditary diseases in our family and my anxiety issues (still learning) So I realised I need to break this chain here. I love kids, But I won’t be a good parent.

I have applied for PP (normal) on March 16, 2026 and Policeman visited my house on April 06 2026, and told me he needed more identity proofs beyond an Aadhaar card, pan card. I had bank statement also as proof, but my driving license was not updated with my latest address, so he said, "I need to visit RPO (Sec 34)."

I then updated my DL & applied for Voter ID (still pending) and visited RPO Sec 34 (as per RPO appointment) today, and the man at the counter did not even listen to me properly and said, "Police verification is already initiated, we can't do anything, you visit the police station or call them, your responsibility."

Like I waited for a month for this RPO appointment, visited them, and the guy did not even bother to listen to me or review my docs.

I tried calling the same policeman, and of course, he did not pick up my call. Now what should I do?

Is it difficult for everyone like this? Is it because I did not pay (bribe) the policeman, so I gotta suffer?

Hi guys, I (32F) have been working in IT for like 8-9 yrs.

I started as Functional Business/Product Analyst and currently working remotely (US based organisation & team) as Functional Product Owner (Associate Product Manager). (Functional means Non technical)

- My biggest challenge has been for me all these years is I don’t speak up publicly (an introvert), don’t have the confidence in speaking up or sharing my viewpoint even if I am right or making valuable comments.

- My current manager has been encouraging me for Promotion but he is insisting me to be visible at broader (leadership) level because my growth is his growth too. (My manager is a high performer employee)

Not sure why I am not able to take initiative or do more than asked, I only do what is asked.

Why am I doing that? Please help me with any suggestions or tips. I need to grow n save my job, promotion is secondary. Refer any courses or videos maybe..

Note: I am considered as Intelligent, Smart n Quick learner based on my manager’s feedback (almost every manager so far). Everybody sees the potential in me except myself.

Please help.
