8-year Old Dog with Addison’s

Hi, my male neutered dog Marlowe 🐶 a terrier mix 25 pounds, and has Addison’s disease. He’s had it for about 3.5 years.
He’s on a monthly Percortin shot, and a .5mg prednisone pill that we split morning and evening, or he pants. He started with just 2.5mg a day but recently we went up because he suddenly started having diarrhea about 5 days every month before his shot.
We spent another thousand dollars on testing again, doing guesswork about the diarrhea only to have a repeat four months in a row about five days before his shot, so it’s clearly related.
We don’t know what to use for the diarrhea the pumpkin that normally works, is not working. We tried all kinds of probiotics that were really expensive.
The diarrhea definitely seems tied to his shot wearing off. It will wake us up. He will ask to go outside every 2 hours, and we are losing sleep all night long. Half of those times it’s just a sense of urgency and he doesn’t eliminate, the other half it’s liquid diarrhea.

We’ve been told we could move his shot up as much as a a week, as needed. The day before his shot, we’ve always given him a can of pumpkin and chicken and rice, which has helped make him more solid. The shot usually triggers soft stools, or diarrhea.
This chicken rice pumpkin can routine always works well, but the diarrhea before the shot is new and problematic.
