Hello all, I am currently shopping for a B8.5 A4 and am running into some hesitation from what I’ve heard regarding timing chains.

I’ve had an Audi/VW in the past (B5 Passat, B6 A4) so I’m quite familiar with how crucial buying smart is when it comes to examples with properly maintained and serviced belts/chains.

Would you be able to share your general experience with the B8.5 timing chain? Is there an average mileage range where issues begin to occur? Most examples I’m looking at are 1 owner with pure dealer service history, but no mention of the chain even at 100k+ miles.
