English lit major; is taking two lit classes a bad idea

I am a first year masters student studying english with a focus on literature. I am also a graduate teaching assistant. I am taking world literature, composition and nonfiction writing. I am considering taking american lit instead of nonfiction writing. However, I am not a traditional english student. Because of this, I am not used to literature classes. I want to ask, is changing the classes a bad idea? I don't mind a reality check. I am on a thesis teack so I want to prepare for a thesis the best I can.

Can you door dash to your dorm?

This may be a silly question, but can you DoorDash to campus? Like I ask for them to meet me at the door to my dorm lobby. I ask this because I had a complication donating plasma yesterday, and I am having severe low blood pressure and fluids and the heat has me on the verge of feeling like I could collapse so I’m trying to not leave my dorm. I’m fine, I just got to build back up the fluids the next two days

Can you request to overstay during christmas break?

I am an incoming GSA for the grad school staying on campus due to last minute reasons, but I need to move out late. Final grades are due on the 23rd meaning, I have to work till then, meaning, I need to stay on campus for an extra 5 days. I was wondering if that is possible to do. I see it is for the end of the school year but nothing for winter break. If this could be answered that would be great. Thank you!

What should I do about a roommate not responding to reaching out?

So, I changed my housing last minute to a better location, and I got a freshman roommate. I’m a first year grad student. I am not too worried about the age gap. However, I reached out via email to my roommate and never got a response. I am considering sending a follow up but I don’t want to be like doing too much. It has been a minute since I had a roommate that I shared a room with since at my old college we had our own rooms. I was just curious how I should handle this type of situation. I would love to get to know them before I move in, but I don’t see that happening. Any advice would be great.

Tattoo rule?

Hi y’all. I’m about to attend liberty in person this fall for my masters. I am posting this because I am unsure of the tattoo policy. Do all tattoos have to be covered? I have one on my forearm that is a cross with a bible verse. It isn’t huge, I can actually cover the whole thing with my hand. I wanted to know if it is appropriate or do I need to wear a cover sleeve? Any advice and insight would be appreciated.

I finally found out why I was rejected from the DCP.

Hi everyone, I am planning on applying to the DCP for spring 2027. I have an interesting finding on my last application. I applied in January for the fall of this year and was rejected. I had no idea why. I looked back at my application, and I had the same month and year for a few of my jobs. It was a data entry error that I didn't check because I wasn't paying attention. I was so confused about why I was rejected, since I had been accepted in the past. I am sharing this as someone who made the mistake of not double-checking everything. Double-check your work dates; getting them wrong can cost an application. You all have a great night.

Full time course load on DCP?

Hi everyone. I am a student pursuing a certificate right now and hope to start a master's next fall. I am hoping to apply for the DCP for spring 2027. Due to my tight timeline for a certificate and possibly a master's, I will have to take my classes on the DCP to avoid falling behind.

For context, the certificate is in medical coding, so not something insanely difficult. I know I won't be able to enjoy the DCP to the fullest, but I want to experience doing the program at least once in my life. I may try after i graduate but not sure on that so I am trying to do spring of 2027. I would be taking 13 credit hours. I want to ask, has anyone done this and not lost their mind on the program.

Also, a separate question. Has the program this last cycle become harder to apply to than the previous cycles? I applied for fall and didn't get in, though I got in with the same resume in previous cycles. I heard they recently admitted too many people. Is that still true for the fall group? I honestly wish I had taken my chance in the previous rounds that I was accepted. Outside infleunces in life were not so supportive.
