Auto-Bans Using Daily Challenge?
I had a pretty good score on the Daily today and was curious to look and see what people who 5K’d one of the tougher rounds saw that I missed. In that process I saw several users who got 25,000 scores with 0 or close to 0 steps and very little time elapsed. Watched a few replays and blatant scripting was occurring. I reported a couple but it seems like there’s numerous people doing this and they all seem to be playing a lot of duels too, which leads one to conclude they are almost certainly cheating on those too.
Can’t Geoguessr just auto ban (or semi-automatically ban) people who are nabbing 25Ks on the Daily with less than X number of steps or less than X number of seconds? I could see getting that kind of score on a round here or there, particularly if you’re dropped in front of a commonly known landmark, but it definitely isn’t happening for anyone (regardless of ELO) on all 5 rounds of a daily challenge.
Here’s a blatantly obvious one that could easily be picked up with an algorithm:

Here’s one where my proposed algorithm might not catch as they use some steps and some time, but if you watch the later rounds (like round 5) you can tell they are scripting (or I guess they could be reading from the Daily Challenge Discussion) as they are locating the place on the map before they even move a step or see a sign:

Anyways, just my thoughts on how the user base could be cleaned up without relying on duel reporting.
