FYI: I am an IBKR account holder for more than 10 years.
From the the IBKR desktop trading app "TWS", I am using the Global Bond Scanner to find US corporate bonds. I can find bonds and place orders, but I never get filled. My order size is 100K USD. I have tried more than 10 buy orders, but no luck. I even cross the ask price by more than 20 cents (100.00 -> 100.20) and I never get filled. I asked online IBKR support and they said the real problem with Global Bond Scanner is all of the prices and sizes are indicative -- nothing is firm. It feels like I am spitting in the wind.
Previously, I have traded US gov't bonds on IBKR. As long as your size is 50K USD or larger, you should have no issue getting a buy order filled.
Does anyone have any advice to provide? It would be great to see a list of US corp bonds traded on the current trading day. Can this be done from TWS? Then, if a bond has a bunch of activity, it would be more likely for my buy orders to be filled.
Please advise.
