Gosh I am feeling kind of silly because I can’t wrap my head around my this pattern graded the pleats like this.

The pattern shows an inverted pleat that lines up with the bodice dart, but after basting it in place there’s a big gap in the pleat!

Can someone help me understand where I am going wrong?

I’m a size 20 for reference.
