Possible Scabies for Only One in Household of Four?
6 y/o Daughter has rash on torso armpits and groin not butt. She says a bit itchy but not at it too hard. Has gotten worse over the past week. Saw derm today and couldn’t verify with scrape that scabies exists but recommended treatment is permethrin cream for entire family and was bedding. Reapeat in 1 week.
She also gave us triamcinolone cream.
I’m skeptical it’s scabies because we all share beds with each other a lot but nobody else has it me, wife, 9 y/o sister. And she’s not super itchy and not crusted. Also not pimple like, no burrowed lines.
My thought was treat with triamcinalone for a week to see if that resolves before trying the permethrin for the fam. Derm said we could do that, but if it’s scabies could get worse. thoughts to community on my preferred approach?
