Enlisting. Issue after already losing excessive weight

34m 6’2 was over 350 lbs now 250 lbs. Running into problems now that I have lost the weight. And my recruiter/his command doesn’t have any answers for me.

The big issue is that I now have excess skin that is increasing my waist measurement. I barely passed at MEPS needed one waiver and will have to go back up and retape to finish. But when I was up there I feel like they measured too low on my hips. With all my loose skin sagging my navel sits over an inch below my actual waist line, increasing my waist over 2in from where I was measuring at home.

Does anyone know where the measurement is supposed to be taken? Is it at the crest of the pelvis, below the crest(where they took it). Or is it supposed to be just above (where the top of the navel normally sits if my skin wasn’t an issue).

Would I be wrong to try and correct their measurement location when I retape. In a respectful way obviously. And what about if I run into this issue again when I retape on my ship date and at osut?

Joining soon just trying to drop a few more lbs before going to MEPS. 34yo dad of 2. Been a firefighter/EMT for the last 15 years most of it as a Truck Co OIC. Also work in the ER as an EMT/Trauma tech. Been trying to figure out what MOS to go, or what are even options. 11b is obviously in my area as well as 68w and I’ve talked to a couple of those guys in my department. I’ve also been looking into switching to Law enforcement in my regular career. So 31b is also on the radar but is that even an option in my area or VA in general, what would drill be like?

Any suggestions on other MOSs. Some cool jobs that I’m not thinking of. I’m definitely more of a hands on person. Open to learning new skills. Combat arms/adjacent are of interest. Anything that has unique opportunities for deployments or active orders?

I’m definitely not an IT or computer guy.

Big thing is I’m just trying to do more research so once I have a list of what I qualify for after MEPS and ASVAB. I’m not taking forever to decide
