Still Constipated after Total Collectomy
Hey All,
I am looking for advice as I had a Total Colectomy with IRA last year for colonic inertia. The recovery was hell and im still going through some issues. The staples they used left stomach ulcers at the connection points while not painful they do cause bloody stool occasionally. Them came the fatigue, dizziness, bran fog, heart palpitations. I upped my water intake now doing about 4L a day started Iron and fit c and D supplements this seemed to help but not fix the issue. While I was emptying completely and consistently until about 3 weeks ago now for past 3 weeks my BMs are incomplete and mostly just water or few odd pieces pof stool small enough to come out offering no relief. I am waiting for an appointment with my surgeon and a a GI but its still weeks away and im right back to where I started bloated and miserable. Things I've tried:
Collace stool softener x4 days
Psyllium fiber x2 weeks
Senna Tea x1
Milk of Magnesia x1 - only produced water
This is really taking a toll on me borderline suicidal because I went through this surgery and now have more problems and am once again constipated to the point where I don't want to eat or leave the bed. Any help or suggestions while I wait for my Dr's would be appreciated.
