Memories of murder
I just finished memories of murder. There’s a scene before baek gwang-ho (the village idiot) who was the only eye witness of one of the murders, gets hit by the train. The two detectives are interrogating him before they’re interrupted and then he wanders off to the train track. So in this scene, the detectives ask him if he saw the killer. And he says, yes. He was handsome. And then he sort of trails off. And starts talking about a fire or something. Saying something like, “he threw me in the fire” or something. I felt like it was relevant. But then the movie ended. And the killer wasn’t identified. And then I searched and found out it’s a real life story. And the actual killer has been caught. I’m just confused, was that scene supposed to mean something or what?
