[FL] Signed promotion/pay change document says effective April 27, but HR system displays May 1

I recently signed a promotion/pay change document at work that explicitly stated the changes were effective April 27, 2026.

A few days later, HR updated my information in our payroll/HR system, but the system now shows an effective date of May 1 instead. Before the updates were made, I had emailed HR asking specifically about the effective date, but that part of the question was never directly answered.

I work in Florida, although our HR department is based in Canada through the parent company.

At this point I haven’t actually received the first paycheck under the new rate yet, so I don’t know whether this is just a system display issue, a payroll processing timing issue, or whether the effective date was actually changed internally and may require a retroactive adjustment later.

Has anyone dealt with something similar before? If so, how did it end up resolving?

Hey guys, hoping someone here has dealt with something similar because this has been pretty frustrating.

We have a 5 month old Berner who had diarrhea start last Monday night into Tuesday. It wasn’t great, but by Wednesday he was already improving. Then late Wednesday night / early Thursday he had another episode which was an accident in his crate. Just for reference even as an 8 week old puppy he never had an accident in his crate and hasn’t had an accident inside the house since he was about 10-11 weeks old. He’s never had an issue holding pees or poops over night and has always alerted if he needs to go.

Since the first diarrhea:

- fecal test came back negative

- energy has remained normal

- drinking water, peeing fine, eating fine

We watch him like a hawk at home so we’re pretty confident he hasn’t gotten into anything here. The only things we can think of are:

- he had a newer chew earlier that last Monday (not brand new, but hadn’t had it in a while), or

- we took him on a walk at a local preserve on the Sunday before and he could’ve picked something up while sniffing and we didn’t catch it

We put him on rice + boiled chicken and slowly got him back to normal food. He even had 3 days of completely solid poop and we thought we were in the clear.

Then tonight at like 2:30am he had another accident in his crate, not full diarrhea but super soft, basically right on the edge.

That’s the part that’s throwing me off.

He’s going poop like 3-4 times a day, most are normal but he will occasionally have a softer than usual stool but nothing concerning. No vomiting, no lethargy, nothing else off.

We did give him treat during some puppy / obedience training yesterday. We usually use freeze dried Stella and Chewys meal mixers and some of his kibble.

I guess I’m trying to figure out:

- is this just his stomach still recovering and I need to chill out?

- did we move him back to normal food too fast?

- is this something Berners are just sensitive to as puppies?

- could it even be the beef-based diet?

For food, we feed Open Farm’s gently cooked beef recipe + their beef kibble.

Right now we’re thinking about backing off again and mixing some rice/chicken back in and maybe adding a little pumpkin, but I don’t want to keep guessing and making it worse.

If anyone’s gone through something similar I’d really appreciate hearing what worked or how long it took to fully get back to normal. Also not gonna lie, getting woken up at 2–3am to clean a crate again after thinking we were past this is brutal lol. Appreciate any help!
