Maybe I need to give up on finding a nontraditional/equal relationship
24M. The last girl I dated ended things because she said she could not date someone whos Indian (A country I have spent 2 weeks of my life in). She thought I was going to just go get an arranged marriage (why????? who would want one). You would think someone who is so called leftists in a deep blue state would understand the insanity of that statement but maybe I had too much faith. The last girl I dated before I asked her if she could buy food this time (I had paid all previous times) and she pretty just ignored the statement. Later when she ended it she told me I was too feminine and needed to find a women with more "Masculine energy". Then the first girl I ever dated pretty much told me she liked guys who hit her and well...
I started thinking about it more and I realized maybe that relationship dynamic is just out of my league. Like women who are into these relationships are more desirable, so they will be taken out of a dating pool faster. Since they are also more desirable they can be more picky and are more likely to choose people who fit conventional attractive norms. I'm ethnic, not tall, and non-masculine so i'm bottom of the list for women from looks and personality perspective, and as just shown my race actually scares away women who want that dynamic. I think in the same way that wanting to date a super model is out of my league, dating someone with a more egalitarian dynamic is also out of my league. I'm 24 and never had a LTR, I always wanted to have a family and kids and so I think its time to essentially settle. I make decent money and have had dates with people who very obviously were looking for a "provider" and maybe that is really the only angle left for me? It got me thinking if its so clearly transactional why not just passport bro and go overseas, it will be cheaper, I can retire earlier, ill get a visa to country not going down the road of fascism. Its a little depressing but at this point I think I have to face the music, honestly I'm not sure if going on is that much better
