Any ideas?!

Hi, I have your standard 19 month old boy. Full of energy, only wants to explore the room rather than do what we are supposed to be doing. Most of the time I can find an adaptable way to make it work, he is loud in a happy way, a thrower of things mostly his snacks he’s given up on or hot wheels. All can be dealt with, however I have an older son who’s 8, nearly 9. He goes to a lovely school, very community based so they often have assemblies with parents & things for family’s to attend. I’ve always shown up to every one but since having our littlest it has become quite a challenge, for the reasons I’ve mentioned 🤣 there are lots of other siblings there but none quite like ours, he won’t sit quietly obviously, so I try to entertain & we point people out he knows. But it always ends in him wanting to run away & do something he can’t & shouldn’t be doing. No one seems bothered (they probs go come and say Christ!!!!), but in the quiet when the kids are doing their assembly all you can hear is him piping up, screaming because he wants to go & run up to the front. I obviously don’t want to stop going but running out of ideas of what to do when these events come around. We have sports day coming up & I’ve asked my mother in law to take him for the day because he will just want to run with them all day & he can’t 🤣

It’s a cry for ideas or maybe just a rant. But man it’s hard, I leave feeling embarrassed sometimes. I try to embrace his spirit but can he hard when you want to be there for your bigger kid & the other one won’t give you 5.

Oh, he’s also a hair puller… At what point do you go from, they are just energetic & exploring the world differently to actually their behaviour is not good? My 1st was gentle & cautious, 2nd is the opposite. Will throw a car at you then laugh when you say no. Think I’m still navigating how to parent this one differently in relation to his nature, I try to explain things like you need to hold mummy’s hand or you will have to be carried but he wants to do what he wants, so ends in tears. Does anyone else have a wild one? Not the flower picking stick collecting cute kinda wild, but like the bite you on your leg then laugh at you kind.
