I have an appointment next month with SSA to become my own payee. What should I expect? Do I need letters from people saying I can handle my own finances or is doing a good job on the interview enough?

My doctor said he would fill out whatever paper work they send him.

Do people get rejected even if they do well on the interview and their doctor supports it? Is there anything to worry about?

My girlfriend just got made her own payee and when they took her bank information they took down the wrong number there was a 1 at the beginning and they thought it was a line.

She called and gave them the correct account number but the deposit was sent to the wrong account already

How long do you guys think it will take for the issue to be corrected and for this months check to appear in her account?
